Sunroof surround cleaning

Is that a Skoda ? I think it's the same one that I've seen pictures of the outside, it's got alot of plastic hanging on it!! :p

OK, this has been bothering me since I bought the car 10 years ago - how to clean the area around the retract sunroof in my 2000 Sable. I think the first one doesn't look too bad, but the second is, well grungy! I figure Dave F., Luster and others have dealt with this many times and have a great answer.:notworthy:

I personally wouldn't recommend doing anything more than wipe out with a damp cloth. Those tracks need to stay lubricated and if you go nuts in there with APC it could easily cause the motor to seize :o

If it were a showcar or some crazy exotic, then maybe, but still :out:

Man, you really are eatin up pretty bad with this obsession :White Horse:

I agreed with Flash on this one, a very light cleaning and keeping it lubricated, so it may run properly...........:wizard:

Thanks Flash and Angelo - not trying to be obsessed, just want it not so yuk looking (yeah the grease attracts dust by nature). I'll give it a quick ONR wipedown after my order arrives (sorry Angelo, not from PAC this time )

Yea, what you have is a catch22...When your driving around with your moonroof open dust/dirt/leafs... get caught up by the lubricant :banghead:

What you could do is go to an uphoulstery shop that installs moonroofs and ask them what they would use & how they would apply. Then you could get in there and go crazy with soom APC and foam brushes~m/f :w00t:

It would make for an intresting write-up 4 sure :2 cents:

Flash - great idea as I need to go get some fabric panels re-glued back on the doors (foam backing died) anyhow and it could be my first contribution.:partaaay:
