Hey guys,

I detailed another 2002 Camaro SS, conveniently another friend of mine :p

I detailed this car around this time last year with IP, FPII and NXT. The car sits outside ( surprising to me ) but gets garaged during the winter. He washes it and keeps it clean, and when i clayed the paint, only the rear bumper had any "visible" contaminants. :dance

So here is my process :

Wash - Megs GC

Clay - Megs Clay

Polish - PB's SSR2.5 with PC setting 6 with CMA Yellow pad

Wax - ClearKote's Carnauba Moose Wax with PC setting 4 with a Blue Sonus pad

Here you go :

Another great job

I'm really surprised you aren't getting more micromarring with the yellow pad all the time.

i know you are not the 1st one to ask me about that. i have experienced zero hazing from using a decent swirl remover ( abrasive wise ) and the yellow pad.

i like the cma pads better than the sonus pads. i have only used them once so i will have to give them another try :buffing:

Gav...Nothing like a clean, shiny Camaro! You do some outstanding work. BTW, thats the same color as the wifes '01 V6 model.

Good job.

Looks incredible, but you need to dress the wheel wells. The wheel wells look gray compared to the tires with dressing on them.

thanks guys,

the wheel wells in the rear of a camaro are kinda not smooth, but i guess that is no excuse for not cleaning and dressing them.

to be honest, i usually do not include the wheel wells unless they are caked with mud or something :nixweiss

What a beautiful navy blue metallic SS!!! I'm digging the rim / color combo.

Excellent detail work!! :xyxthumbs

that looks nice. Do you ever notice on these threads theres always replies from fbody guys.....

What are you basing that on?? F1 tires came on numerous high-performance cars, from the McLaren F1, various Ferraris, the Shelby Series 1, down to the C5 Z06 and CTS-V.

Anyway, got a question for you F-body folks. What is that red thing on the wheel's center cap? I saw this same thing on the road on an LS-1 Camaro. He had the 17x11's on the rear, so I was asking him how well they fit (as I was curious). He said he can't put bigger than a 285 on it or it rubs, which makes me wonder what the point of using 11's is... Anyway, I noticed that red thing on the center cap that looks like a Pontiac screaming chicken. He said "It's the Corvette emblem". Since we were at a light and I didn't know the guy, I didn't see the need to point out that it in fact is not.

But what the heck is it? The center cap is very much like the Corvette emblem, except for that red part. A Corvette emblem would have a red bow-tie there. On those wheels it looks like a bird or something. What is it??
