2003 F-150 King Ranch "Gold Pacakge"
I was contacted by one of the shops I detail for to perform my “Gold Package” on this truck. The truck has not been detailed in quite some time but for a 2003 it only has 50k on the obo. The cow hide leather was really really really dry, and had not been conditioned. I applied 3 heavy coats of Poorboy’s Leather stuff and they still looked dry. I have used Poorboy’s Leather stuff on 2 other King Ranch seat before and after 1-2 coats they looks brand new again. I gave the owner some leather conditioner and told him to keep applying it to the seat until they are dark brown again and the leather is not soaking up and more conditioner. Besides that the truck came out great.

If memory serves that King Ranch leather was never very supple to begin with and I remember from an auto show years ago that it never smelled very good, either. Regardless, nice work!

Very nice turnaround on those seats. Could you describe your process (surely it wasn't a wipe on wipe off)/product (anything besides PB's LS?)/tools (ie. leather brush or just terry toweling?)in detail (pun intended)? IIRC the leather is not coated, correct?

It's not soft/vinyly like most car leather. It's more like saddle leather, and I believe it is uncoated. Someone can probably correct me on that (and I'm sure someone will). I wish I could cost-effectively get the King Ranch style leather in my truck.

That stupid carpet-on-the-dash thing needs to go though. Tacky.

yes you are correct , it is un-coated saddle leather and will not become soft and supple for years to come ...I'd guess after 75K+ miles with a fairly good size person sitting in it :yikes: :lol2:

Thanks Guys

I made sure i got all dirt, sand, ect out of the seat then a applied PBLS on pretty thick to the seats, once the seats soaked it all up I applied it again. It needed about 1 full bottle for all the seats and a couple days to apply coats one after another, but I didnt have that kind of time so I should the owner how to apply PBLS and gave him some.
