Suggestions for sporty ride less than 27K

Looked at some on the net, they are definately nice cars. I want something sporty though.... I really think it's between the Corvette, s2000 and not so much the Boxster. Plus perhaps some of the two door BWM's.

Have you taken a look at the 2003 Hyundai Tiborun ?? You get it get it loaded with all the extras for about $20,000. Its a great & real sporty lookin car, handles very well w/ a nice interior. Geez i want 1 now.

It's a good looking car... but not overly fast and doesn't handle that great. The other cars listed above would demolish it... :)

True about the mid-age crisis thing, you tend to see older gentlemen driving them, but I attribute that to the price of new ones. Keep in mind I'm not mid life.... yet... :)

What's the reliability/repair costs of the Boxster? They've got head turning styling, that's for sure.

They are usually very reliable, but most people who buy one get an extended warranty to cover the unexpected. On the 99's especially, the engines have had issues with the Rear Main Seal (RMS). Any big issues could be very expensive. But consider that you are getting a $50-60K car for under $30K (thank you, economy, for the huge depreciation :( ).

They only need an oil change yearly or every 15K miles. This is $300(!) at the dealer or you can do it yourself in 20 minutes. :up

Definitely try one if you are serious about the S2000. It is the benchmark roadster, and even if you don't like it for some reason you will at least see what all the hoopla is about. I tried an S2000, then a Boxster. No comparison, IMHO. It's about more than specifications and 0-60, and I can't explain in it writing, either.

Konowl,

I owned a 97 Prelude for the last 2 years and thought it was an excellent value. I sold it this spring in the Ottawa area so I am interested in what you will get for it.

The S2000 is my pick.

Well I sold the Lude because we are having a baby so I had to get something more practical. I bought a Honda Element.

I know alot of people find them ugly but I like it. It is a great baby mobile.
