Suggestions for Ferrous-Iron Decontamonation Removers

WOW, Stokdgs, I guess I never really thought of claying as a "decontamination" process, but a PREP CLEANING process.

I`m tempted to be a real [jerk] and suggest that most cleaning is a decontamination process ;)

I guess if I did NOT have to clay after using a chemical decontaminate... IE; you just want to remove the iron specs without having to do any claying or polishing to save on time and effort.

The times I`ve clayed during/after chemical decontamination, IMO it was necessary because 1) I was impatient and/or 2) it was some really awful contamination. Chemical decon is a godsend for vehicles that can`t be corrected for one reason or another.

I haven`t tried any of the others, but I`ve started using this:

Autoglym Magma (retail)/ Liquid Clay (pro)

It seems its main active ingredient is Sodium Mercaptoacetate (Thioglycolic acid) 5-10%.

It doesn`t smell overly strong other than the citrus-y grapefruit-y fragrance which is quite strong.

It seems to work very well.
