Suggest a Polish to use after DACP.

Right now, my go to polish for marring and scratches is DACP on a polishing pad. This turns out to leave a great finish, but I want a perfect shine, with absolutly no hazing.

I have tried Vanilla Moose with a polishing pad to clear up light hazing, and it didn't do much. I've also tried Meguars #9 Swirl Remover, and there was no improvement in the finish. The only thing that I have that worked was NXT on a polishing pad @ speed 5 on the PC. This was only a temperary fix though. The marring reappeared a few weeks later as the NXT got washed away.

Meguiars #83 is a great polish and It breaks down to leave an almost flawless finish, but I still can see hazing. No body else can see it, but It bothers me!

I'm thinking of trying: 3M Finesse It Swirl Remover for Dark Cars, Meguiars #80, or Menzerna FP.

Will these give me the results I want?

hey ko ko!

this is 83, 80, nxt - 80 got rid of hazing.

koko_b_ware, Did you use PC? what pad? DACP can leave micro marring and hazing especially on darker colors, From my expereinces I like to follow it up on dark and light colors. I have tried #9 also and it didn't do it for me. I found #80 to be great at taking care or the marring, and leaving a wet and clear finish!

He is a link to some pics I took, I used both DACP/#80: scroll down, there quite a few photos.

Ive used #9 after DCAP with good results. Nenzerna FP also worked good for me. I have not tried SSR 1 or 2 ... yet

Just realized that so many use DACP and #80 here at autopia! Makes me think twice about ordering the SSR's, But I must try them. I'll Never know if I don't, Even if it turns out I like Meguiar's polishes better, I could still use the SSR's in the sun.

tdekany, Nice Job! got any more pics? I just love looking at pics of a nicly detailed car!

Have you DACP users ever tried SSR2.5? I am so curious to see if it's a touch more aggressive, a touch less aggressive, and how it finishes out! By the way I only use PC, I plan on learning to use the rotary next summer.

You can't go wrong either way, and as you said, for sunny days there is only ssr

#80 completely removed the minor hazing I was getting on my own car from DACP. My paint was left crystal clear and WET! after following DACP with #80.

I don't know how clear it is in these two pics, kind of hard to see the DACP haze.

DACP only:

DACP follow by #80:

Both were used with a Meguiars Polishing pad.

I've been using #80 only twice a year or once every 6 months. I don't know if it can be applied more frequent than that, what's the frequency of usage for you guys:

#80 Speed Glaze

On my own car, once or twice a year. The rest of the time, I use a light polish.
