Helped detail TJ's car today (username Kanchou). Here is the process:

1. Eagle 1 A2Z on wheels, Z-16 tire shine

2. Zaino Z-7 wash

3. Zaino Z-18 clay

4. Zaino Z-7 wash

5. PB SSR2.5

6. Zaino Z-5/ZFX

7. Zaino Z-8

8. Clear Vision II EF window cleaner

9. Megs Quick Interior Detailer

10. Metro Vac vacuuming

11. PB Trim Restorer on black trim

12. P21S Polishing Soap on exhaust tip

13. Zaino Z-12 glass polish to remove some shoe polish from drag events

14. Zaino plastic polish to minimize some tailight scratches.

Looks awesome, Lee! Even under less than optimal lighting, the shine is excellent!

Great color for those cars too, I did one just like it about a month ago. :)

TJ worked a bit on the engine bay but it was in pretty good shape. Maybe TJ can snap a photo.

Probably need to go over it with 303 Aerospace and some P21S Total Auto Wash next time he visits. I'm creating some samples of Z-7 and Z-8 for him so he can keep the Z-5 looking sharp. :)

By the way, we used Z-16 on the lower body black trim and it worked perfectly. :woohoo:

Did you do any type or wash or wipe down between the 2.5 and the Z5?

Nope, you don't have to. It's better to use ZPC but I was running out of time. I do take a fresh plush towel and make sure no residue remains. I get 98% of the residue off with an edgeless from ExcelDetail. Best practice would be to do a Z-6 wipe if you have the time.

Works great. :)

SSR2.5 leaves the surface really clean and I've done this on several cars. I'm still testing Z-PC and will add that in soon. The Z-6 does help a bit with the gloss. We ran out of time since we had some swirls to remove on the doors. We got most out and the Z-5 really helped on the minor ones. I am really impressed with the product. Looking forward to Z-5 Pro...

pato loco es muy feliz.

don't blame Silver for the lighting, I ended up showing up about 45 min late to his place and threw his schedule off a bit. Lost some overhead lighting...

My experience with this short cut was pooling water after about two weeks. If was plain obvious the areas that had been spot polished with 2.5 and then straight to Z5. I was glad that my trial was with a friend and not someone paying.

You must have done something different. I've three or four cars this way and so far no problems. Water runs off wonderfully quick.

SSR2.5 leaves a very slick, clean surface, it would not cause water to pool. Zaino bonds well to it.

As long as you're Z8'n and Z6'n and any other QD over a surface all the time it will stay slick. This guy was doing a wash with OTC car wash and got concerned when he saw some areas that were pooling water. I looked, I saw and I will never entertain that process again. If you really want to see how a product stands on its own, pull away from the QD.

To each his own.

Well maybe the OTC wash was not working well with the Zaino...how do you know SSR2.5 was the cause of the trouble? Might be some other part of his process.

I don't QD the Z-2 Pro on wife's car and it looks remarkably nice given her trips to the local horse barn (lots of mud).

One of the benefits of Zaino is that the Z-8 adds a layer of sealant which makes upkeep very easy.

The spots that were pooling water were the same ones that were spot polished with SSR 2.5. Being that he doesn't have any 2.5 or any other polish or wax and really didn't know what areas I had done the polishing on I think it's conclusive that it was the 2.5 that was the problem.
