Stripping wax with rubbing alcohol?

I am planning on stripping he wax off of my car without using n abrasive or dawn wash. I though I would try spraying rubbing alcohol. I have been informed to spray it on the paint, let it sit for a few moments, then wipe off with a towel, then wash the car.

My question is this completly safe for the paint? Will it harm paint in any way, bubbing alcohol just sounds worse than it is?

Personally, I'd rtather use DAWN than alcohol, if it's available, to strip a true "wax." Much easier and safer IMO to use DAWN. But, if I had to strip a sealant, like Zaino, I'd give the car a good alcohol bath then rinse thoroughly and rewash. Either will do the job on a wax, alcohol is stronger so I wouldn't use it unless absolutely necessary.

well anways, I thought of this question last year

my solution, PPCL (pinnacle paint cleansing lotion) removes Klasse (it did take some elbow grease).

hmmm, it says on EF-HI safe for paint. I imagine I would dilute it leave it on for 5 seconds and get it off and probably cringe but still feel safe.

Alcohol will not harm the paint and is perfectly fine to use.

I would not use EF-HI on paint. I was informed that it contains a certian chemical that is not paint friendly.

I'd use Prepsol or similar body shop prep solution. You can get this stuff at most any auto parts store or auto body supply shop.

Prepsol is used by body shops to remove anything and everything prior to paint and body work. It's perfectly safe for clearcoats as long as you don't use it every other day.

So rubbing alcohol would be considered to be less harmful to paint that dawn wash?

I believe that either will do the job of stripping waxes/sealants off the car in thier own way. One is not worse or better than the other but once done the paint/clearcoat must be protected as soon as possible.
