Strip wax before putting on emblem?

I have no idea where to post this but I couldn't think of a better place to put it than autopia.



I'm going to be putting on a hood emblem and I was wondering if I should strip the wax before I put it on, or would the paint be more protected with the wax on there?

it will be stick on

theres two holes in the hood and i hate the way it looks debadged

Sounds like a honda. Since the two holes will be holding it on and not adhesive i would definitely get a nice finish with some LSP down, you may never have another chance to get under there so easily!

no there's adhesive, the holes are there to center the emblem, it doesn't lock in

nissan 240sx

Yes strip it. Won't stick properly.
