What type of applicator do you guys use when applying protectant to your vinyl seats, doors, dash ect. I'm going to do all the seating surfaces this week end with Vinylex and am looking for an efficient way to apply the product. Thanks. :)

I like foam applicators. Very efficient and no drips. I often follow up with those cheap yellow cotton towels.

The dash surfaces are much too rough for leather conditioners. Like BRAD, I use a foam pad, but I dampen it to diminish the gloss of 303, and allow easier spreading which actually uses less product......

Necessary for cleaning front wheel wells....

DSC_0544.jpg

DSC_0545.jpg

The car has carbon ceramic brakes, no chemical wheel cleaner was used. Heavy dilution of pH car shampoo and various brushes worked fine.

Tires stripped of old dressing, wheel wells degreased as well

Pre-wash cleanup

DSC07801.jpg

Sprayed down the entire car with a diluted degreaser to strip off prior protection and loosen up some grime, car was pressured washed again and began the 2 bucket wash with CG citrus shampoo

The car had a lot of bonded contaminants and a very rough feel, clay process took close to 2hours to complete

Plenty of paint to work with, diamond hard clearcoat :shakehead:

Started paint correction on the front hood and bumper both of which wrapped in clear film.

Now onto the more serious stuff, the entire finish had some light wash marring with lots of RIDS and DA sanding scratches from the factory.

Refining the coarse finish left from compounding at.... 2300rpm :crasy:

1900 and slower passes during the polishing stage, working products at 1500rpm does very little for extremely hard paint

another excellent job showing off your attention to detail and dedication to mastering whatever car a client gives you. I really like red Lamborghini's - I think they look perfect. Great job Dave

Great job! Rare color as you mention, never saw in Thailand and rare quality of your work as well.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! There is no such thing as a bad picture of that car. Incredible!
Thanks for sharing Dave. Great writeup and great job.

EXCELLENT job (as usual!!):notworthy:. What products did you use to clean and protect the leather seats?

Dave, I was wondering the same and what you use to remove the jean transfer on the seats also? A awesome correction job on the Lambo! All I can say is that Rosso say's ( Me Eat Ferrari ):hurray:

WOW

Once again, you did an amazing job. You can detail my Lambo any day (if only I had a Lambo).

The 50/50 shots were really telling!!!

Hey Dave, who takes the pictures while you are doing your magic?:clap:

I used the leather masters strong cleaner. To be perfectly honest the leather cleaned up with a little agitation, gave me no problems. The leather is thin and stretched very tight, on more springy seats and ones that are perforated it would have been a little more of a task.

Thanks Barry, and I will handle you lambo whenever you need it, as long as I get to drive it before hand.

As for the working pictures, well I hire a small man who sleeps in my garage to take all my pictures for me, in exchange I feed him and teach him to play piano.... or maybe I just use a tripod and set a timer :Dancing Dot:
