My car is about ten months old and is a part time garage queen. have tried alot of different car care products over the years and never tried pinnacle, but its on its way. My car is pretty damm smooth and has no swirls, what is the most safest and most gentle paint cleaner out there that does not remove paint or clearcoat and how often should it be done,before every wax? twice a year? By the way going to use the pinnacle line= paint cleanser lotion,shampoo, and crystal mist and last but not least souveran wax. heard so many good things about pinnacle that i had to try them. heard about clay but seems like shaving for your car's paint ,this option would be my last resort. One more thing will souveran wax potect or is more of a wax for show cars,like brilliant shine and no protection?

Since you've already bought the Pinnacle products, I would use the Paint Cleansing Lotion. I have not tried it yet, but I believe it uses non-abrasive citrus cleaners and is gentle on your paint. Check out DavidB's review at http://www.autopia-forums.com/ProductTests/PPCL.htm

And with Souveran, it is more of a wax for show cars with a deep but reflective shine and some protection.

I heard Souveran has a short duration. It's still on my car (2 weeks). One thing you might consider under you Soveran is Klasse. Then you'll have protection and the showroom shine you desire. For some, Klasse is enough shine on its very own, but everyone prefers different. It works well under souveran on my car.
 
I have tried both Klasse and Zaino on a San Marino Red Prelude. I have liked both, but I am leaning towards Klasse. I didn't have any clouding. Thanks, Diane
 
Re Claying -- do consider this before you do all the work in laying down layers of protection. If done properly, it is safe and it will not "shave" your paint as you feared it might.
 
Don't fret about claying. It does not hurt the paint. It is amazing what it does for the finish. Do it!



Pinnacle Paint Cleanser does most of it's cleaning with cleaners and solvents and has very little abrasive. It is perfect for your scenario.



Paste Glaz is the "show car" wax with the least durability. Souveran will last twice as long as PP Glaz.
 
2003 Porsche 996 Turbo came down from Canada for a full correction. Overall this was one of the most extensive corrections I have done.

Initial condition, filthy as expected... a 650 mile road trip has its downside

Prep consisted of a thorough pressure wash of the entire exterior followed by foaming with a citrus soap.

After a few minutes the foam

Wheels were cleaned using only soap and water, no wheel cleaners should ever be used on carbon ceramic brakes... not that you really need to as they dont generate very much break dust

Before moving onto a 2 bucket wash I sprayed the car down with Opt. powerclean to loosen up whatever surface grime was left. While this sat I agitated all the trim pieces, crevices and badges

Also treated the front bumper with surf city road grim destroyer to breakdown all the big splatter

Car was washed and then clayed. Before taping it up I gave it a thorough IPA wipedown.

Interior was in decent shape, leather was cleaned and conditioned. All trim pieces cleaned and protected with 303, carpets protected with 303 fabric guard

Fikse wheels unfortunately had sever etching on the lips and inner barrels, nothing could be done without causing further damage but they cleaned up moderately well

Owner came by taxi to collect his car at 6pm...

Here is how she looked just before taking the trek back to Canada, yes some may say its ridiculous to drive the car home after a detail but in reality it will only get dirty. The 7 years of abuse and defects which accumulated arent coming back anytime soon, especially not after 1 road trip.

After 31hrs and 2 very late nights (or very early mornings you could say) the car was looking as it should. The owner drove to DetailersDomain imediately after to pick up a ton of stuff to maintain the car including grit guard buckets, gentle shampoo, mitts, tire dressing etc. Makes me happy to see someone go home with a perfect car and get all the essential things to keep it looking that way.

This was a long one and I thank you for letting me share. I think you will enjoy the next one as well, its black as well but it is not a Porsche :thumb:

Dave, nice work!! Black cars sure are nice, when there clean! But the correction is as you put it "suckness"!

Stunning work as usual David.

It's a shame to see the impact areas on those P cars just forward of each rear wheel/tire (just below the inlet). I see so many of those cars with clear film applied in those areas to keep the road pitting down. Nothing you can do to those areas if they're pitted like that. The shine and gloss you achieved is first rate!

Amazing work David. It looks like he found the right person to take care of his car. I am sure his 600 mile drive was well worth it. He must have been smiling ear to ear the whole way to Canada.
