Strange Cleaning Question

Wow - guys thanks a million, there are some really good tips here! :xyxthumbs

Anthony - that's an excellent point (car kit) and definitely something worth mentioning.

Also - "preparing" your car for such an event by keeping it waxed and properly cared for will also help along the way.

Article's not due till sometime next week so any other hints/tips/suggestions are more than welcome!

You guys really know your stuff - I knew I came to the right forum!

The contents of the egg itself are highy acidic and will etch the paintwork

No. An egg is not highly acidic.

It's basic, and only faintly so.

A fresh egg white has a ph of 7.6 to 7.9

An old egg white has a ph as high as 9.3

An egg yoke has a ph of 6.2, with very little change or variability.

Neutral PH is 7.0. A fresh egg white is faintly basic. An old egg white may be mildly basic. The yoke is faintly acidic.

A fresh egg ph is about that of fresh blood. An old egg has a ph of Phillips Milk of Magnesia. An egg yoke has the acidity of milk.

Everything you never wanted to know about eggs.
