Straight from the junk yard to this...

Got the camaro out of the junk yard yesterday. Needed some work to say the least.



At the junk yard:

It was hit on the side, but I don't have any pictures. We pushed it out pretty good. When you see the after pictures, look at the rear passanger quarter panel. You can tell where it was hammered back out, but it looks a hella lot better than before thats for sure.



So, here are the processes:



Rear lights:



Removed, cleaned with Dawn

-1500 grit

-2000 grit

-SSR3 at 3000RPM

-SSR 2 at 1000 RPM

No Topper



Body



I didn't polish most of the car yet. Just the hood and front bumper area. I did some home handy man repairs on the front bumper, with some touch up paint and a colour matched spray bomb. I still need to add anouther coat, and some clear.



Anyways:



-Touch up areas

-Wetsand with 2000 grit

-touch up again

-wetsand with 3000 grit

-SSR 3 via cutting pad via rotary

-SSR 2 via polsihing pad via PC at 6

-Topped with Awsome Gloss (all the hood) you can tell a difference in the photos from what was polished.



Most of the rest of the body was rubbed down with Klasse AIO just to remove the oxidization for the time being

Rear passanger quarter

-Beat out dent

-smooth out metal



Here are some before/afters, I must admit they suck, but I was just trying to get the job done. I was tired after digging it out yesterday.

It was a car in the junk yard. He had a car cover on it because the top wouldn't go up. It needs some work. I bought it for a buddy, and he payed me today. Made a huge profit off of it. I ordered a replacement quater panel, did all the fluid, and brakes last night, and then I'll give it to him. It will look like a above average car once I'm done.

See above post. I bought it from the junk yard for $3000, and then sold it for $6000, with about $1000 put in to it. Not a bad profit for roughly 3 days worth of work.

$6K for a used LT1 'maro that needs some work and a top that's broke!! I applaud you more for getting that kinda money than the detail.

It doesn't need any work. I got the replacement panel today, its in the paint shop, and I fixed the top. The wires were crossed on the motor. :LOLOL



Car has brand new traction t/a's 245 in size. I did the tie rode end on the drivers side. Thing drives like a new car. I really don't know why the guy put the car in the junk yard. I had it saftied and told them to not let anything slid. Its higher mileage (150,000 miles), but it runs like a top, and everything looks good compression wise ect. He's getting a good deal on it actually. :) $6000 canadian dollars remember.
