Storing your PC... case/box?

I finally got my new PC 7336sp... and wanted to know, what do all of you store your PC in? and what about all the Pads?

i saw a toolbox somewhere on-line that is fitted for the PC, anyone have it? not sure if it fit any of the pads in the box though.

:spot

I have the fitted plastic Porter Cable box that was made for it, got it from Detailer's Paradise. A lot of people use a metal box that is sold for it at Coastal Tool, I believe.

Setec,I think I caught a glimpse of yours in the photo on DC.

My long deceased Waxmaster orbitals weren't a total waste, I salvaged the two piece plastic container from one before I demolished my last one and now hold my PC in it.

I too keep one in the fitted plastic case, along with the backing plates. I wish it had just a *little* better fit where the cord comes out of the PC though, [sigh] guess nothing's perfect.

I still keep my older one in the cardboard box it came it. Been well over a decade and it's holding up OK.

Heh heh, I used the orginal cardboard box for my older Cyclo for over 20 years, but they gave me a new one when I sent it in for a once-over.

I keep my used pads in Ziplocks, in a drawer unit along with a few new ones. The rest of the spares are in a big Rubbermaid Roughneck container.

As Accumulator said, the cord is a little bit of a problem...the whole thing...once you've got it closed it's great...but it kinda locates half in one half and half in the other...you really don't know if you have it in the right place until you try and close it...it could be better, but once it's closed, it can't move around.

:rofl You're like my father and grandfather (and me :o )

They have kept EVERYTHING in their original cardboard boxes. I have their stuff that goes back to the 40's in the original, MINT boxes including owner's manuals and warranty cards! Boxes for cameras, Stetson hats, electronics, radios, etc... You name it I have it including a few original first generation 35mm camera boxes and unused flash bulbs in boxes from the 40's too. All the boxes are cool. You can display them as antiques! Maybe I'll snap a pic or two. One thing for sure is all 3 of us are (were :( ) very organized!

kompressornsc, the PC fits beautifully in that case. I scatter the backing plates around the corners and there is plenty of room to wind up the cord. A worthwhile investment :2thumbs: Tomorrow, I'll snap a pic and post it.

Hey, me three regarding the Cyclo, yep, in the cardboard box also. There isn't a special case that is made especially for it that I'm aware of. I think Anthonoy Orosco has a big plastic case for his rotary and Cyclo together but the cardboard box on the shelf is fine with me.

PC still lives in the origional carboard box still, Pads in a plastic box, alongside the ones I keep my MF's in.

I use this for my PC and some supplies.

I have a clear plastic storage box that I keep the PC in. Then I have another box that I store my pads in. I can't believe I went so long without these storage boxes!

Same here - one for my PC and the extension cable, one for pads, one for MF, one for...you get the idea :LOLOL

Ha! This is the same problem I have with all of my Porter Cable Cases. They make them so dang tight that the cord has to go in perfectly or they won't close. I think when they give the tool to the case designer, they give them one without a cord. :grinno:

BTW-I use an 18" Craftsman Metal Tool box that I lined with rubber shelf liner. The PC fits in the bottom perfectly and the tool tray holds the wrench, anti-vibe gloves, and bottles of SSR1 & SSR2.

damn Lost Pup, thats a quality bag you have there :)

you dont have to worry about the flexable backing plates getting bent and staying bent from sitting for a prolonged period of time?

kompressornsc, what kind of rubbershelf liner are you referring to? and what anti-vibe gloves do you use?

Thanks again all for the comments!

TOL offered a nice metal one ages ago, but it was labeled "discontinued" in a catalog from the early '90s :(

Lost Pup- I was *wondering* when somebody would post a bag from Bucket Boss. Yeah, they make some quality stuff.

Spilchy- Yeah, I probably got it from my father...and the original boxes are always great with antiques anyhow (and especially cutlery, firearms, and photographic stuff- I'm intrigued by your mention of "first generation 35mm").

I still have the boxes for handtools, electronics, you name it. I wonder if anybody'll put item-to-box when I'm gone...
