Stopped By Home Depot Today

You purchased the Thoromatic 8 Gal. Paragon Carpet Extractor? Does it heat the water? How was the suction on picking up the water?

I'm more interested in it for my home carpet. Just rented a RugDoctor this weekend to clean my carpet. Not the best, but cheap. RugDoctor does not heat the water, so I heat the water over the stove to get it real hot. I have kids, so I turn down the heat on my home water heater.

From reading his post I'd have to guess that both links just popped us to the frontpage of the janitorial section at home depot. I think he's saying he bought two buckets and sprayer, not a big purchase like an extractor.

I'd guess he bought this bucket.

As for the pump sprayer, I'd guess he meant something like this;

I think that bucket has been discussed here before. I think I remember someone saying that it was too easy to cross-contaminate the rinse water with the sudsy water. Also, it is difficult to change the rinse water.

I'm sorry guys, didn't think it would do that.

I purchased the two sided bucket and a handheld pump sprayer, not a big one like that, only 1.5 qt. Both work AWESOME, even the bucket. I only rinse out after I am done because after every section of the car, I spray the mitt with high pressure water and then go to the clean water, then sudsy water.

How's the quality on that sprayer?

I'm exploring OODLES of options on hard water reduction including buying distilled water by the 20-1 gallon containers for spot reduction at the end of my washes.

As it stands now, you can sit a bucket of my tap water out in the sun for a day and end up with a block of limestone in the bottom of the bucket once everything evaporates... it's horrid.

RP :D

RockPick,
Would a home water softener help the situation? I assume you detail out of your house. I just had one installed in my house and the residue on glasses in the dishwasher is not detectable at all now, it was absolutely horrid before.
FYI, you had really good posts on f150online.
