Stoners Invisible Glass

vindaloo, This may sound funny, but do you have a WalMart near you in the UK?? I buy my Stoner's from them everytime and it might be a good place to check. Stoner's with some #0000 steel wool and newspaper to dry are my favorites for windows.

We have a supermarket chain called 'ASDA' that Walmart bought out a couple of years ago, but there are no car care products sold other than 'run of the mill' UK products. Defintely no Stoners.

If you can't get Stoner's you might want to try a simple Alcohol and Water mix (50/50). Another poular one is H20/Alcohol/Vinegar. I use it sometimes, it works great, but is not the best smelling stuff in the world...might be an alternative if you can't find Stoner's around you.

SticKing1 made a nice recommendation with the Alcohol/Vinegar/H2) mixture. I have yet top try it since I ordered a case of the stoner's IG (12 cans) a while back and still have about 3/4 gallon of Eimann Fabrik Clear Vision.

I was looking into shipping you a can or two of the Stoner's but it costs $32 for a 5 pounds package to the UK from the States in a time frame of 4-10 days, or $38.75 for 3-5 day Global Express Mail.

To ship 12 cans (about 15 pounds) would cost $62 for the 4-10 day service, or $68.75 for 3-5 day.

A case of the Stoner's costs $32.83 or so (shipped to me.)

BUT, that seems a bit excessive for a window/glass cleaner.

A damp Mf followed by a dry mf for buffing does wonders though.....

I will ship you 3 cans for $12 plus shipping. Wait, edit- it would take forever to get there because they are aerosol cans and regulations require that those stay on the ground. That means they would be shipped via boat- SLLLOOOOWWW!!

Thanks for all the suggestions & offers, guys. The guru report is only worth buying for me, if the products it recommends are available in the UK. Otherwise it only makes me jealous!

Stoner's has awesome customer service too. I bought a case of SIG from them last year and Jennifer didn't like it. She does the interiors for me so getting a good glass cleaner is important. She is currently devouring the Glass Report I bought this week. Anyway, I called Stoner's and asked them if I could send it back and they said sure. Since the shipping would cost too much to send it back they told me to just give it away or something. Talk about customer service!! Not only did they refund the card, they also let me keep the case. I gave away about half of the case and then started using it myself. I happen to love the stuff. Jen just isn't a fan of foaming glass cleaners I guess.

I too didn't really like Invisible Glass

Still left residue for me. At the moment I have a Viper MF glass towel and I was given a product called Clear Power . It contains vinegar and melaleuca oil. It seems to be cleaning well.

Clear Power is a product by Melaleuca. Melaleuca works much like Amway unfortunately in that you have to be a distributor or know someone who is one to buy from. Will be a PITA to get if I grow to really like this product. In the meantime I'm starting off my bottle and have concentrate for another 16 oz bottle.

After using this I think the route I'm going to go is with the Viper towel.

I love Invisible Glass. It is the only glass cleaner I have used for the past three years.

It removes any spot I have on a window and always leaves a streak free shine and it super easy to use.

Love it! And it also lasts a very long time!

As your in the UK, why not use Autoglym glass polish. There should be a number of discussions about the polish. Very good product IMO.

If you want perfect glass:

Clay

Lighter fluid

Autoglym glass polish

When I lived in the uk I used to use wire wool, AutoGlym Glass Polish then top it up with Fast Glass whenever it needed re-cleaning.

Its not as good as Stoners tho .......

The AG Glass Polish used to leave horrible powdery residue.

I don't like the Autoglym Cleaner as I find it streaks badly. I have found a good product although it is expensive.

It is CW1:100 Glass Cleaner made by the maker of the original P21S, Dr. O.K Wack Chemie in Germany. It doesn't streak & is very easy to use but it costs approx $10.00 in the UK & the distributor only sells mail order & min. shipping is approx $11.00

Ouch!

I have been using the Autoglym glass polish for some time - never had a streaking problem. I agree with Smoker about the powder, but the MF towel removes most of it in one swipe. I also find that buffing before it fully dries cuts down on the residue

I too don't find Autoglym Glass Polish streaking. Yes, it's powdery when dried but it's very easy to remove with any cloth. Just a minor thing but the result is incredible sparkling water-beading windows. :up

Be sure that no one is confusing the Autoglym Fast Glass glass cleaner solution with the Autoglym Glass Polish cream made for actually polishing glass...
