Stoner Products

I've tried Trim Shine on my tires, looks pretty matte, but costs a bit too much if I use it as a tire dressing...

I love the Trim cleaner, though...

What do you use on tires?

How does it cost too much to use as a tire dressing? It is like $11 a gallon. That is cheaper than what I'm using now.

My only beef with Invisible Glass is it doesn't seem to get bugs off well. Liquid 20/20 seems to work better than aerosol for that. And 20/20 sells for $1.99 at Wal Mart. I do have a few cans of IG as well so I switch back and forth.

Never tried Turtle Wax's.

I disagree, I think it's great on bugs on tough stuff. I've never seen 20/20 at Wal-Mart. Turtle Wax is nothing special, I was just using it as a price comparison. It works ok, from what I've heard.

Mainly wanting to know if Trim Shine is fine for tires.

Is MSLT the same thing as trim shine?

I think for glass cleaner I'll just stick with Pro's Aerosol Glass Cleaner. Doesn't smell, cleans easily, and no streaks even in the sun.

Right now I think I'll get the Trim Shine and the all purpose cleaner.

yes the trim shine can be used on tires. I use it all the time.

I also use it for the door trims, dash and just about any other trim.

I should also tell you i use meguiar's apc+ as well. It works very well on the carpets.

I prefer Eagle One 20/20 to Stoner's Invisible Glass too.

Invisible Glass is an excellent product, and is clearly better than Windex or most other glass cleaners. However, I have noticed that while Invisible Glass does not streak, it does leave a fine haze behind that cannot really be buffed off. This is true no matter what type of buffing cloth is used (various MF towels, cotton t-shirt, newspaper). I have used Stoner's IG on all differnet kinds of windows and have always seen the haze. It's a minor thing- it can only be seen in direct sunlight at dawn or dusk- but it drives me nuts.

20/20 does not have this problem. If you buff it off well, it will not leave a haze behind. The trick is to buff it off properly. 20/20 will not haze, but it will streak if it is not buffed off right.

I fold my MF towels into quarters, plush side IN. I spray the 20/20 on the glass (3-4 sprays for the whole front windshield is plenty), buff with one side of the MF towel, than flip the towel over to the opposite side, which is dry, and buff again. This gives perfectly clean windows with no streaks.

Again, Stoner's IG is a great product, but I do prefer 20/20 for these reasons.

Awesome, thanks for the info. Guess it'll be 5 gals of Trim Shine and 5 gals of All purpose.

How do you dilute Stoner's All Purpose Cleaner for Tires and brake dust from wheels? Does it handle heavy brake dust well?

If you want shiney, deep tires, trim shine isn't going to do it for you. For that you need more shine less time for tires.

But I guess it's all a matter of preference.

Thats not true...

I have used both and got the same effect. Plus with the plan trim shine you can use it on other trim

I have to respectfully disagree. I have also tried both, and the trim shine does not get as deep of a gloss over the tires like the more shine less time for tires does.

I have used both and they look exactly the same.

sprayed them both on using a air pump sprayer and let it settle on the tire. Looked the same to me.

You don't have any problems with fling off by just spraying it on?

I think maybe those people are talking about if they buff the tires down. I don't really like high shine dressings as long as the tires a black and not grey i'm good.

Maybe there is a difference because we (or atleast I) am using the stoner products from an aerosol can.

I don't buff the tires, I just do one quick spray around the tire, and I'm set.

no fling as i wash & dry the car then add the trim shine. By the time i am done detailing the car, tires are dry.

The best thing i like about trim shine is the tires never turn grey.
