Stoner aerosol issues??

I use Zaino on both my titanium silver BMW and my wife's black Honda Accord. I am constantly amazed at how great her black car looks with the Zaino on it. The BMW looks good, but the Honda looks great! I would almost trade the silver for the black color, but we all know the problems that come with black (swirls, chips and dirt all more noticable).

Just thought I'd comment on how great a black car with Zaino looks. Every time I wash or QD the car it brings a smile to my face! :D

I know what you mean about silver. About a month ago, I Zainoed by red Honda S2000 and my silver Subaru. They both look great, especially the Honda, but the silver suby just doesn't "pop" in comparision. I remember sitting there looking at them thinking that I wished I had gotten the Subaru in black or the dark blue.

silver is tough, but when you do it right with zaino it really has its own type of look....

In the sun, its bright and brilliant, sometimes hard to look at with out sunglasses. In the shade, very reflective, and just before dusk it glows!!

This is a unique type of detailed look with silver that you have to get used to. I know it's tough after looking at highly reflective reds and blacks. Here are some tips for silver--->

1. Use Z1 more often, every 5 coats, it makes a difference!

2. Try a few coats of Z5. I liked Z5 better on Silver. I would alternate Z2 / Z5 /Z2 / Z5

3. Try ZFX when it comes out! It made a difference in gloss on my silver Z-28, it was a like a feeling of satisfaction with the color(finally).

4. Use sals tricks of application.....apply it "front to back" in straight line motions on flat surfaces like the hood, roof, and trunk, and apply it in top to bottom motions for the side vertical surfaces.

5. Dress your tires, and black trim, and polish all chrome trim. I found that after dressing ALL black trim with Zaino Z16 or 303, the BLACK trim really brought out the contrasting lighter silver tones.

6. Use Z6 just before application of additional coats of Z2 or Z5.

7. After you apply Z2 or Z5, walk away, and don't evaluate till the next day....the shine will come out!

Good luck, and try some of these tips out and you will see a difference.

Can't wait to try ZFX, I think that I used the techniques that Detailking suggested (Z2, Z5, Z2, Z5 etc and front to back).

I am not complaining about the shine on the silver, but, of course, if ZFX can make it stand out a little more, that would be great.

Great tips DetailKing. I did almost the same but started with Z5 first than z2 etc.

I like the shine on my light pewter Metallic truck. Makes them metal flakes really stand out. Next year I may try the Klasse twins to see how it looks.

and would have to say that the best tip is to use Z5 in place of Z2 and to apply polish up and down on the vetical surfaces and front to back on horizontal surfaces. This seems to work well for silver. I will also try to dress up the black trim and wheel wells. Thanks!

Has anyone ran into the problem of Stoner products that seem to be clogged? I have a can of Speed Bead, MSLT, and trim shine that all appear to be clogged. I have tried running the nozzled under hot water, using a straight pin on the nozzle, and spraying it upside down with no improvements. It looks like something might be up with the cans themselves, right where the nozzle goes in. I was hoping someone might have an idea to get the can/nozzle to spray the product, as these are all new cans and I don't want to trash the stuff if at all possible because I can't get it to come out. Any ideas?

jared,

We haven't heard of any issues with Stoner's products "clogging". If anyone has experienced this, lets hear about it.

jk

It's been many years (5-6), when one spray can I had problems. JP try calling them and see they might know on how to fix the problem for you.

Try this, invert the can, spray nozzle pointed at the floor...try spraying a short blast of propellant...invert the can right side up,and let it set a few minutes...dont shake the can and try it....let me know if that works . :)

No go. :(

This may sound really stupid, but what might be possible consequences of boiling some water and putting the can in top-down? How likely would this be to pop the can, etc? Possibly the release valve from the can being clogged?

I would think the boiling water would damage the plastic insert. I would also think boiling water could cause this can to explode

Jared, if you decide to do this please video tape and post :out:

I have had that issue before with a can of bead max, i just take the tip off and spray it with an air hose and it works fine again, it will happen again no idea why it would happen on trim shine, i could see why on the cans of wax though.
