Stone Chips Repair

Anyone had any success with an aftermarket product for stone chip repairs, other than just purchasing a touch up repair paint from the main dealer, which when used in the past always resulted in a "blob" that looked worse and was more noticable than the original stone chip!

Car is a Black 2003 BMW Mini.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I read on some site about his chemical where you do the touch up and apply it and it softens and removes the blob... I do not remember where I red it and what the name was but I would hope it would help you out. Otherwise you will have to dare wet sanding...

^^^ That's the stuff

this stuff is no good on metallic paint, only works well on non metallics

i have a 2005 Silver Gray BMW M3 and when i use langka, the touch up paint turns too bright and silvery compared to the rest of the car, even with clear coat on top

i tried wetsanding and it was better than langka, but still not completely gone

Langka also does not work well when using a base and clear coat. I've personally never tried it though. I just wetsand.

Yup I echo that... I use 3000 and a ("stiff sponge" as we call it) back pad and plenty of water (mixture of 25% car shampoo and 75% water)

Of course after that come the compound, polish, sealant and wax stages... Fun huh ? :grinno:
