Still not sold on ZCP

I have used the ZCP on about 4 occasions. I've used different speeds with the PC. Different pads (LC white, grey and yellow.) Ive been only able to remove light spiderwebbing and some minor scratches. I understand that it has the ability to remove lots more. I've tried varrying the pressure applied and working it longer. I like the consistensy of the product but it sure isn't a "super product" for me. I am a Zaino fan and have really wanted this product to work for me. I think I may only use it as an AIO type product, just for paint cleaning prior to Z applications. It just doesn't work that great for me on defect removal. Maybe my expectations are bit too high.

Anyone feel the same?
 
I've read claims that several people are having problems with micromarring from it-maybe it's more difficult to work with than other products and that's why(like DACP)-personally I'd buy a menzerna product based on price and reputation from users
 
ZPC does have some adjustment to be made to be successful with it's use. You need to use less product than you would with other polishes. I'm not likely to buy anymore of it as even 85RD is cheaper.
 
funny as I felt the same way and have a an almost full bottle sitting on my shelf :D I only use for those customers who insist on zaino products from surface up..
 
ZPC works alright for me, just gotta use very very little and work it until just about gone.



It is really just another polish though, it would have been nice if it were as ground breaking as Z8, but lets give Zaino some time, im sure Sal aint done with the polish yet.



I would like just a piant cleaner from Z though, i dont really need to use an abrasive much.
 
I think I will stick with the Menzerna products as well.

whats the skinny with IP and FPII? Can we go directly to Z products after thier use?
 
ZPC is a mild polish so one shouldn't expect it to remove deep swirls. It should have an overall effect of lessening them though. Also, remember, when using a machine, tecnique is a big factor.



One of the best things about ZPC is that it is compatible with the rest of the zaino line so one can polish the car and go right to Z2, Z5,etc without washing or removing oils or residue that might be left over from other polishes.

And thats the reason why I was excited about it and wanted it to be my savior!
 
Z-PC , like all polishes has its limitation on what defects it will correct when using a PC. For moderate blemishes a stronger or more aggressive polish and pad combo like Menzerna IP or Meg's Light cut and a cutting pad will work better and save time. This plan for the initial attack on moderate blemishes with a PC or by hand will require this more aggressive approach.



If using a rotary, Z-PC will probably work as your only needed polish because of its ability to reduce in abrasiveness as the product is worked.



It would be nice if Z-PC could handle a wider range of paint correction but this would eliminate Z-PC as a polish (cleanser) that can be used multiple times a year.



My procedure for paint correction stands today at:



Claying, yes a very important facet in paint correction IMHO, claying is greatly overlooked in importance and its ability to actually polish surface.



Menzerna IP with PC and spot rotary for deeper marring



AIO (for now the non-VOC compliant version) by PC with polishing pad. Why? I just love using this product and it seems to have some filling ability from its acrylic component.



Z-PC by PC with polishing pad, no pad loading (water or Z6) and I set the PC at 5.0-5.5 for final hi-lighting gloss and prep surface for maximal Z sealant bonding. :bigups
 
For me and what my results have been, I will be using ZCP as a paint cleaner prior to Z applications. As the others stated, I will use the Menzerna line for any corective action. I like AIO as well and it also seems that concensus here is that Z will work just fine over AIO.



Menzerna for any corrective action then onto...

ZCP for very light swirling before Z application or

AIO for strictly paint cleansing before Z application

menzerna's polishes do not leave any oils behind, knor does ZPC...



Zaino could be followed by menzerna without durability issues
