Stick on pin stripes, how to remove

This past year I found a great deal on a older truck. I just got it plated and have finally started driving the thing. It is going to be the vehicle that I am going to be working out of. Even though it is a 97 F150 I have got the paint back up to specs. The only problem is that it has these horrible pin stripes that are partly peeling off.

I was wondering if anyone knew a easy way of removing them. Is there a product out that disolves the stripes or allows me to just peel them off. Any help would be very mush appreciated:xyxthumbs

They just had a thread bout this, but here goes.

If they are just the stick on ones you can use a heat gun or hair dryer, and they should come off easily. You may need some adhesive remover to get off any excess glue.

If that doesn't work, or they have a "protective" coating you may need to use a pinstripe removal tool/wheel. I got one from Car Quest, and it just goes on the end of a drill.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Yep a heat gun and a plastic razor blade (old Credit card will work as well) the older the vinyl the harder it will be to get off but the heat gun should make short work of it regardless.

Thanks, looks like the heat gun is it. There is no protective coating. these things are so old that they have started peeling back. Nice sunny day here to get rid of some nasty pin stripes.
