Where is FMJ or ......on and on?

I'm unimpressed with this test and most of the "contestants".

As already noted...old news (08/04) also note the disclaimer at the beginning of the post.

Note: This was NOT an official Guru Reports Test. Your results may (and probably will) vary. All testing was performed on my own time and does not reflect Guru Reports or its testing methodologies - this test was 100% independent and conducted under blind conditions with 3 people providing their own, personal opinions of the waxes for their appearance, performance, ease of use and durability. Do not allow any portion of this test to influence your potential buying decision - it's simply a comparison based on observations, opinion and personal experience in my unique environment.

In my opinion, multi-step products such as Klasse and AutoGlym.

Did you read the test or just skip to the results?

Quote,

"Since Zaino has ruled just about every other test I've ever done, I decided to try something to handicap it a bit - I applied it without using ZFX or Z1 - I just wiped on some Z2, let it dry and wiped it off."

Klasse Twins go a "B" rating which is pretty good in the original Guru. Durability was a very high "A-" which matches my personal experience.

I did not realize how old the final results were until you pointed it out to me here.

Klasse was tested in the GURU reports. Not sure about Autoglym. As for FMJ, EX-P, WG, etc, I myself am not really interestd in seeing any new GURU studies. I don't need to since I've used these products myself and have come away very underhwhelmed (nice way of saying they stink :D).

For those of you whining about the test, be thankful he took the time do one. If you want to see these other products tested so badly, do it yourself.

I couldn't have put it better myself!! :xyxthumbs

What is it about doing a very well set-up test that elicits so much criticism. Whereas, if Steve had had done a more informal test with a much shorter write-up (like what most of us do here on Autopia), people would be responding with their usual, "awesome post!" replies.

Nice info. You really have to try waxes and finish products yourself as opposed to relying on tests and publications alone. They are helpful, but they reflect the opinion of the test taker(s). Your own view and the performance of a wax or sealant could vary signifcantly depending on the receiving paint and its environment.

Tests do provide good entertainment value, however.......

Yeah, not impressed. Read the wording of the Zaino review and then read the wording of the others. "Optics are down" for one product turns into "Optics are down, but not enough to notice" for Zaino. Well...if optics are down...you noticed didnt you?

I like Steve and all, but he's definately a Z-head. I'd hate for this to turn into a Z vs the world thread (and please, don't) but saying Zaino is the benchmark throws all the objectivity right out of his writeup. Everyone has a different benchmark, I've used Zaino but have no desire to use it again because its not the product for me. I like the look of the products I use now hands and fists over Zaino, even if I do need to apply them more often.

Eggggggg...zactly

I got some ear wax he could have tested

I don't doubt the durability of Zaino, at more than 4 months it is still beading on my brother's van. What I do wonder is how other than Glanz Wax, pretty much everything else was dead in 2 weeks. I've used NXT and Wolfgang more than enough to know that they both last far longer than that. I don't know what it is about Steve's test panels that few product other than Zaino last very long when on actual vehicles that are driving in all kinds of weather I and other get much better results. :nixweiss
