Step up pad first or product first?

Was out working on the truck today, and quickly ran out of daylight. Before I did, though, I was able to break out the new PC and pads.

Used SSR2 with the blue Edge 2k polishing pad. Took a lot of swirls out, but there are still quite a few deeper ones left. My question is, do I step up the product first (have some Menzerna IP), or step up the pad to the green light cutting pad, and see how it does with the SSR2?

I'm not sure how much more aggressive the IP is than the SSR2, but I would go with IP and the same pad you did the SSR2 with. If that doesn't work, THEN go to the cut pad.

Don't be afraid to dial up the speed of the PC to 5 or 6 for serious marring. You also have to spend some time with the PC to get the results a rotary would do in 5 minutes. You also don't do the damage you could do with a rotary in the hands of a novice.
I don't even own a cutting pad, just polishing and finishing so obviously I step up the product if a serious problem needs attention.
