Steel Grey WRX

This is my second full exterior detail. A little history on me. I'd say in January I started researching propper washing techniques. By the summer I had registered on this site and that's when the wallet got a lot lighter. This is the second vehicle I've used the PC on. Still learning the ways, some areas become frustrating and I'm short on patience by nature so I sometimes need to convince myself that yes, I need to go over this area again to look good, instead of moving on.

Anyhow, I started the detail on Tuesday.

Presoaked the car with ONR in a pesticide sprayer

Then I used the two bucket method with Sheepskin and ONR to get her clean

Clayed the hood, roof, trunk, and spot treated the fenders.

I then used a PC 7336 with white Lake County pads and Poli-Seal on the trunk, roof, and hood. By then it was dark and I was getting some gumming issues from the Poli-Seal and called it day.

Wed

Tons of rain and 70+mph gusts of wind made detailing a car thats only protected by a carport hell. All the stuff you see on the ground in some of the pictures, was all over my car. Had to QD the entire car so that I could finish Poli-Sealing. Called it a day early as the wind just kept the crap blowing on my car

Thur (today)

Topped the Poli-Seal with Werkstatt AJT, used Stoners on the windows and topped with AW. Used ONR on the trim and then dressed with 303. Used ONR on the tires and dressed with 303.

I don't have many pics. The sun came out for a brief second and I managed to snap a few, but theres no full body pics yet. Other than the gumming issue with Poli-Seal it seems to be a great product. It's paint correction abilities are very limited but it can reduce minor marring.

Here's a pic of my trunk on Wed after Poli-Seal...

And PS + AJT (before dressing wheels/trim etc)

How do you like that extra half a litre in the engine? I've never driven a 2.5 WRX, but the 2.0 WRX is incredibly fun, and I can't imagine how it is with less turbo lag!

I feel your pain! I have no garage or carport and I constantly clean my vehicle outside. I always come out to find debris from trees and who knows what else scattered across the car, that and it always rains. Gorgeous car, man I want those brakes! Maybe I just need an STI.....Good job the detail and keep it up!

I'm stage 2, cant complain about 275 lbs of torque, stock turbo :)

Hehe,

Not a TR, standard WRX. The way that you can tell is that it has racing style bucket seats, painted side mirrors, and STi side skirts.

Also, the color was only available in 06 and 07. Danase, your wife probably has Crystal Grey, which is still a great color!

You are right. I had a Crystal Grey 05 and my wife's is an 06 which is the same color as yours. My bad.
