Steam Cleaners

In my quest to become more professional, I'm now considering (actually, pretty much about to) purchase a carpet extractor. I hear a lot of people on the board discussing Bissel and I believe Mytee... any recomendations?

As always, price is a factor in my decisions plus the item needs to be portable.

Thanks for all your help gentlemen, I really appreciate it!

I use the Spot Bot. Never had a problem with it. It works very well, and I can turn it on and let it do its thing without my having to do all the work.

Clarification please- are you referring to steam-producing machines or carpet extractors with solution injection? It *sounds to me* like you're referring to the latter. A lot of carpet extractors have "steam" in their names, but they don't actually produce any steam, they just spray (liquid) solution.

Corrected, thanks :0)

Get a Mytee HP60. You'll be looking at spending a little over a grand though, but it is a great machine and portable so long as you have a trailer, van or truck bed to transport it around in.

I picked up the durrmaid mini just cause it was a bit cheaper than the mytee..

Picked it up from ADS and it was the cheapest price i could find with shipping and it was dropshipped directly from durrmaid in 3 days!

Buy a unit that can be repaired locally. Find a local 'truck mount' distributor. These folks will know extractors inside and out. Also a great knowledge base, and chemical supplies.

Trust me, the professional equipment distributor won't sell the Mytee line:secret

A little more research might be a good investment of your time.

Good Luck.
