Stay tuned...

I've seen some of the best body shops here in Dallas do incredible matching and repainting a panel just to buff and machine swirl the entire rest of the car.....:angry

I took mine to Mister Collision. The repainted areas have a few very faint rotary holograms, much better than pretty much any other shop whose work I have seen. His guys just aren't all that good at washing cars and mine was absolutely filthy from sand and the paint is extremely soft for some reason. On the plus side, the color match appears to be perfect and the paint nearly orange peel free. The dent in my fender seem to have been straightened to perfection. IMO, he does the best repairs and leaves the least amount of collateral damage.

I'll tell you who is bad...Moritz and Park Place. Moritz consistantly leaves rotary holograms all over the car, along with overspray and areas of massive orange peel...and don't get me started on sanding marks in the repaired area that are visible through the paint. Park Place trashed a customer's black CeramiClear'ed S500 with a dirty wool pad. You could see tracers all over the car from some sort of grit or dirt that was in the pad. :wall

Well, now it looks like I *am* going to get a shot at the GT this coming week. It has been at a friend's shop getting a Whipple, long tubes, etc., and my friend convinced the Dr. that I was the right choice.

:)

I've already been told it's had lots of "hands" on it (with only a few hundred miles). I guess that's the great thing about a vehicle like that sitting at a dealership for a few days.

Zane...cover your ***..make sure you do a very good walk through...since it has had alot of hands on it...check out every defect and note it...your work is very good from pics I've seen and would hate to see you get stuck for some one else's defects...

Good Luck..glad you are getting the chance to do it again

if you think the $5000 option for the stripes is bad, try ordering one with the heritage colors paint scheme! That shat is a $16000cdn option. (not sure what they charge down south)

That bad boy sat in our showroom for about 2 months before they picked it up. They only let about 10 people drive it. The owner of the dealership only had it up to about 210 before he figured that was enough! lol I wanted to race it with my cbr1000, but there wasn't a track close enough...nor would they do that with someone elses car :(
