Hey guys I was just wondering how you guys advertise? I am huge into detailing and decided to start my own business after countless hours of detailing friends cars every weekend... What kind of money can I expect to make if I do this only on the weekends.. I know I know I will get what I put into it, but I was wondering what kind of money you guys make.. Thanks for the help..

Make a price sheet

You'll make as much money as the number of customers you can get

I just made $80 in roughly two hours for an exterior wash and sealant.

Advertising is mainly word of mouth altough I pass out business cards at every opportunity. I also have a few professional fliers posted.

Thanks for the reply... What do you charge for an average detail and and for a complete detail? how many customers do you have?

Most people charge by the hour and don't have a set price for a vehicle.

But then, some do have set prices. Some people give "ESTIMATES" over the phone or before seeing the car. And then give the set price once done looking over the car.

As I am a beginner and do some pretty decent jobs. I usually end up charging about $35-$40 an hour. The only thing that will up the price for my customers are; wet sanding of scratches or orange peel; and HEAVY extraction of the interior.

I do set prices though. For example, a wash, clay, wax/sealant would end up being about $80-100 bucks. And then adding single/double compounding will bring the price up.

I don't know, everyone has their own style of charging.

Good Luck bud!!!
