can someone name me some really good APCs??? thanks

Simple Green is a very good product that is locally available. For alternative products available through sponsor sites, consider -

303 Aerospace Cleaner
Eimann Fabrik Hi-Intensity
Four Star White Lightning

The Meguiar's Detailer series recently underwent numerous lineup changes. The previous APC+ and Citri-Gel were very popular cleaners.

Most cleaners should be rinsed. However, it may be possible to skip this step if the product is heavily diluted with water. Follow the dilution instructions specified for each product.

This can be very important. Some APC's are very strong and use of them full strength can cause some problems.
I quit using Simple Green for two reasons.
1, I heard it could damage aluminum. (Didn't experience this myself, just read where someone thought it happened to them.)
2. I felt it caused some of my underhood painted areas to look dull after wiping the area with a towel and a 50-50 solution of SG. This was several years ago and I haven't used it since.

Definitely read and follow the instructions for any APC product you use.
I am a big fan of Meguiar's APC+, but it has been discontinued:( and I haven't used the replacement for it yet.

I currently have a gallon of Meguiars APC+ and man is it a pain to pour into containers etc. Anyone have any pointers for diluting correctly? I think thats my main problem. Ex: if it says 1 to 4 parts, would you have 5 total parts? (1 ml of apc to 4 ml of water?)

You have the math down. Now buy a baby bottle with the graduations on the side of it to use for measuring. Works great.
