Stained Trim (maybe from DACP or GECP)

It's raining here in So Cal and sure enough, as my 1000 ERV started running off, I saw some white scuff marks in a small section of black trim near the back window. Clearly looks like the pattern from a PC.

Anyway, I don't think it's a wax stain, and since I used DACP and GEPC recently, it's got to be one of the two. I've heard about the peanut butter trick with wax, would that work with polish stain as well? If so, are you rubbing it in and then wiping it off or letting it sit for a while. And if not, got any other ideas?

Thanks for the help.

I've never had much luck with peanut butter. It makes it dissappear for a few days due to the oil in the peanut butter, but it always comes back. Peanut oil will give you the same effect.

3M adhesive and wax remover (contains Naptha) and a soft bristled brush works best for me.

This is probably one of the best tips I ever got for detailing. To remove any residue from the trim, use a pink pencil eraser. It removes the stain very easily. You will then need clean off the eraser bits and add protectant to the trim. Otherwise you need to use harsh chemicals or try to cover it up.

thanks, guys. It's been pouring non stop for 3 days so I haven't had a chance to do much of anything. I sort of rubbed some of it off with my fingers believe it or not. Maybe because of all the rain it started to break down. I'll probably need to touch it up with some trim protectant once it gets dry.
