Stained driveway?

I was trying to find a way to remove rust stains out of my new

driveway and read that either white vinegar or lime juice might

remove them. Both contain some form of acid. I haven't tried

either one of these yet so I can't tell you if they work.

I just did an 01 VW Cabrio with particularly nasty wheels, QEW no problems. Actually its really cool to watch QEW encapsulate and emusify the grime on the wheels, just floats right off.

Just out of curiosity...are you sure it's the wheel cleaner and not the tire dressing. I haven't had any problems with wheel cleaner on my driveway (sonax)...but I've got 4 marks from doing the wheels with EO Wet Tire Shine.

I could care less about it...it'll cover up when I re-seal the driveway anyway...but I've since switched to spraying the applicator rather the wheel directly.

In AZ we have concrete driveways and last year I got a big rust stain on mine from a friends car. After trying every store bought product I could find I resortted to diluted muratic acid (swimming pool) I diluted it pretty good and it got rid if the stains....Just be careful that you do not use it to strong or leave it on too ;ong as it will "bleach" the driveway

Tire dressings don't really stain that much, but when it rains the pavement doesn't get wet there. I have a very freaky driveway.

Like others mentioned the spots are where the sealant was removed. So the A2Z is actually not staining the driveway but removing the sealant. If you spray it on your driveway and hit it with a hose you will see the sealant flowing down the driveway.(Brown liquid) I too learned this the hardway, now I spray the A2Z on the wheels in the street, Hose off than pull the car back in the driveway, and wash with soap and water. I can care less what happens to the street. It looks like cr@p anyway.

What's in A2Z that stains?

Wonder if ZEP driveway cleaner works? Anyone have experience with this?

Yes, BE CAREFUL. This will burn your skin, and will take black top off. I used it in a spot and it took all the blacktop off of the driveway.

If A2Z does that to the driveway, What does it do the the environment?????

I was just wondering why no one had brought that up yet. Most of these chemicals are extremely harmful to the environment and if you are using these either a) at home or b) at a customers home you are required by federal law to collect and dispose of the runoff and not allow the chemicals to enter the storm drain. :nono

Let the flaming begin!

Lol that is Y i use 2x strength car wash soap or griots rim cleaner. I hate killing fish.

This is a topic we should address in a thread "Environmental issues".

To clean wheels I use Simple green mixed at high strength. We clean at least 12 cars a week and I have awsome results. Yeah it takes more time than ACID but I feel good about using it, and I feel good about my guy's using it also

Car wash soap can be just as harmful to fish as the stronger chemical cleaners. If it hits the storm sewer and it isn't plain rainwater it's harming the environment.
