Stained driveway?

A customer recently mentioned (not complaining) that they noticed their driveway stained shortly after my detailing session.



I'm not sure what I used that would stain a driveway. My best guess, if I'm the culprit, is a wheel cleaner, but I'm not sure which I used that day. Probably A2Z or Castrol super clean. Never had a problem before.



Anyone have experience with this? What can I used to clean the driveway?
 
After I use A2Z I always spray down my driveway. I have not had any problems. I have read where other members did experience staining my A2Z.
 
That just happened to me last week too. I used A2Z on a customer's vehicle and it stained his driveway. I tried everything to clean it up. The customer was cool about it, especially because his vehicle came out autopian style!;)

What's in A2Z that stains?



Wonder if ZEP driveway cleaner works? Anyone have experience with this?

A2Z stripped my driveway sealent right off. I have 4 bare spots on my driveway where my wheels are. Be careful, its strong!!
 
Something that I have been doing is get 4 pieces of remnant conveyor belting and place on under each tire (I would think remnant carpet would do the trick also. Pieces are big enough that when I roll the car a few feet forward it still is under the wheel.

It helps the driveway from getting stained...my parents used to complain about this when I lived with them :D
 
I haven't used it for wheel cleaning but I always park my car on a cheapie blue tarp when doing oil or coolant changes, has saved me in the past. Also, maybe just keep the hose running over the ground near the wheel you are cleaning and do a heavy rinse when complete
 
Last year I cleaned my wheels with P21S Gel Wheel Cleaner and it ate right trough the asphalt, I was like:shocked It left holes about 3" in diameter and at least 1 1/2 " deep. I now do what others already mentioned leave the hose running:xyxthumbs

The thing is, will QEW be able to clean particularly dirty wheels many non Autopian cars have?
 
A2Z ruined my driveway too. 4 brown spots where it ate through the sealant. I was pissed because I didn't even need the wheel cleaner, I just wanted to try it out. I rinsed for few minutes too.



Soap, water, and elbow grease works best IMO.
 
Zep makes a product called tire dressing neutralizer or something like that. We had a 55 gallon barrel of it at my work that we had instead of the normal degreaser we use for mopping the floors. I guess it didn't work very well on silicone and machine oil because we never got anymore but I did snag a water bottle full but still have never used it for anything. The description said it neutralized tire dressing to make it easier to clean up and I found it curious that it was sold in 55 gallon size.
 
I cleaned my wheels this year and I used a little less P21S Gel, I found that it did not do a good job , than I tryed "Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish" and:bounce so from now on , a little of Scottwax elbow grease with a drop of P21S and some Mag Polish:D

I found the 2x car wash soap works pretty well, but I do spend a good amount of time about scrubing with a soft brush.
