I used QEW for the first time this past weekend on my car, and I'm somewhat neutral about the results. My car was very filthy, especially in the lower areas, from being a daily driver parked outside 24/7 for about 2 months. I watered the car down with a traditional hose to get some of the dirt off as best as I could, and this was the process I used with QEW:
I must say that I don't have quite the impressive arsenal as most of you fellas do, but I managed to get the whole car (Honda Prelude) dried with one waffle weave towel. I let the mitt soak in the QEW solution, and applied it on the car top to bottom soaking wet. I wasn't as careful as I should have been with my technique - mostly by not presoaking the heavily soiled areas on the car prior to using the QEW solution.
After I got around the car, I expected swirls to be induced since my car was very dirty to begin with, and it's just something that I've gone to accept since my car is a daily driver that sits ouside. My gripe however was that my mitt is stained from the dirt and grime after the wash. I didn't really let it soak in the rinse bucket after every wipe, but I did handwash the mitts in the rinse water as best as I could to get the dirt out.
Is my mitt stained because the car was just too filthy? Should I have let it soak more in the rinse bucket? Any tips, suggestions are greatly appreciated...and I did do a search already, but nothing really pertinent showed up.
Thanks!
