SSR1 good enough to remove light swirls?

Depends on what pad you use...

2.5 on a white (LC) pad should finish down well enough for a metallic paint.

SSR2.5 w/ a finishing will finish very nicely and leave very little marring/hazing if used properly. SSR1 leaves a great finish and can darken paint. As for swirl ability Ive never used it to remove swirls.

Here is a carbon fiber hood a friend of mine just did using only SSR1 and he did it by hand.

I have a black '02 Jetta and the clearcoat is tough...I used SSR2.5 on a green pad, in some areas went up to a yellow pad. Stepped down to SSR2.5 on white and it finished nicely.

I think the hardness of the clear aids in the more aggressive polish finishing nicer on a finishing pad than does a soft clear. This is speculation though...would like to get some real Autopian thoughts on this...
