Hi Poorboy,

I will be purchasing my porter cable 7424 and some edge pads this week. First, I just want to congratulate you on your line of products. Poorboys are some of the best detailing products in the market and price of the merchandise are reasonable. In addition, they provide astonishing results.

Now here is the link from autogeek the information on the edge pads: http://autogeek.net/edge20006.html

Im a beginner or amateur detailer and as a start, I will be purchasing myself 2x Orange light cutting pads, 1x green medium cutting pad, and 1x Blue finishing pad. I already received my 16oz of poorboys SSR1 and SSR2.5.

**Assume I already washed by car(twice method) and did a full clay, and dried my car**

Then into the polishing step. First I will begin using SSR2.5 on my car with the orange light cutting pad. I checked out the swirls in my car and I could probably get rid of numerous swirls with the orange pad and SSR2.5. But if I will have to step up to the green medium cutting pad then why not.

Afterwards, I will go over the car again with SSR1 and the blue pad. Is it ok if I use SSR1 with the blue pad on my car? Im kind of confident that I could but let me know if there will be any issues. If you click on the link I provided above, you will see the description of each color pads. Thanks for any inputs and keep up the good work. Poorboys products rocks!!!

Absolutely. I use SSR1 with Green (light cut) or Blue (polish) pads all the time, and often move to LSP.

Your best bet is to use SSR2.5 with a polish pad in LC its the white pad not sure in the edge system put the polish on a dry pad and run the PC on 5.5-6
don't be in a hurry take your time. you can go right to a polish I don't think you will need SSR1 after the 2.5 good luck!

SSR1 and a polishing pad will take care of any hazing left behind with the 2.5. It isn't necessary all of the time, but if he is using a cutting pad it probably is. Read the thread in here that titles SSR 2.5 Proper Amount to use before working with it. It sounds like you have a swirled car so use the least abrasive pad you can with the 2.5 but make sure you leave a less abrasive one for the SSR1. Don't know the colors of the edge but there is a thread that shows that.

I use either a "X" on the pad at first, or run "dots" around the pad. Spread it out with the PC off then work it in increasing speed as necessary; I almost always run it up to 6. After the intial application of the polish to the pad, lesser amounts is all that is needed.
