SSR Question

I am not happy with the results that I am getting from Megs #83 with my PC. How do the SSR's compare (aggressiveness) in relation to Meg's lineup?

I don't know if this will help or not....

I just recently tried SSR2.5 to remove swirls & light/moderate scratches and I was VERY impressed. I haven't had much luck with removing defects with meg's products via PC (but rotary does a nice job). I did get some slight marring in a few areas that I worked a few times, but a light polish cleaned that up nicely. I used an orange power pad/SSR2.5, worked the product at 6 via PC (go slow!). Next I applied PwC with a white pad at 4.5 (again, go slow). I topped with EX-P using a finish pad, then souvern by hand. -The results looked nice. I have pictures, but haven't figured out how to size them to post (but eventually will). -Hold tight.

I would compare SSR2.5 somewhere between menzerna IP and menzerna power gloss compound via PC. I haven't tried SSR's via rotary yet, but will soon.

I agree I use only SSR lineup now for SWR and have got great results because of that. I have a black BMW and started with a orange cutting pad using 2.5 then a polish pad with SSR1 and under indoor lights the finish was almost perfect or about as close as I liked. Then finished up with P-W-C and paste wax the car looks great!!!

I think that #83 and SSR2.5 are very closely rated on the cut scale as far as agressiveness goes BUT the SSR2.5 gets my vote because it's such an easier product to use. I found with the #83 and Menzerna IP that I just didn't get the results that I had hoped for from a PC...maybe it's because I'm impatient and you have to work the other products much longer but for me the SSR2.5 is my go to polish for defect removal.

Many here state that you can go straight to a LSP from the SSR's as well...I've never been completely satisfied when doing so but following with SSR1 always leaves a smile on my face.

Thanks, thats the answer i was looking for. I have #80, #9, #26, NXT in my arsenal. I like the #80 & 9.....#26 & NXT look awesome at first but the longevity sucks.

I will be ordering some 2.5 and be shopping for a new LSP.

Thanks again
