ssr product line swirl remover has many fillers!

Notice that the original poster used the word "applied" when referring to his process. I am thinking that the process is in question here not the product.

In general, I think he might be confusing SSR's with SMR's which do sometimes have nothing but fillers, kind of like the 3M SMR's which will act exactly like he described.

We can't say this enough can we guys. Prep, prep, and more prep.

I have been using ssr 2.5 & ssr 1 for many months now on many vehicles including my own. When I first got them I did an IPA wipe after using them just to make sure they didn't contain fillers. The swirls that ssr 2.5 took out didn't return after the IPA wipe. I'm using ssr's as my go to polishes because of the ease of use, ability to remove swirls effectively, and because they contain "NO FILLERS." Previously I was using 1Z polishes, I still have them and use them on occasion, but I find ssr polishes are much more user friendly and effective.

Thanks for sharing your experience and actual findings. I'm not on a witch hunt but we shouldn't be blindly defending/supporting ANY process or product without facts to back it up. Thanks DSVWGLI!

The bottom line here is that PBs entire SSR line has real diminishing abrasives that effectively remove swirl marks and permanently so. If your experience is different then your process is not effective.

A good general rule of thumb when using whatever polish is to always do the IPA:water wipe down, and let that IPA:water dwell a bit on the paint first before you wipe it off. I'd even let it sit up to a minute or two if you are really concerned. Following Ketch's procedure, I'll then wet my finger's with the solution, dry then and run them over the area I polishes, If it squeaks and generally feel totally clean with nothing at all on the paint, then you know you're looking at the results the polishes really left behind.

How come the original poster never posted back. I think he was just trying to get a rise out of us. But I know that they dont have fillers.

Or maybe he works full-time as a detailer and hasn't had the opportunity to get back on here.

Not every person sits around waiting for a reply.

This thread is shameful.

Instead of folks asking questions and offering help to see if something may have affected his experience with a particular product, he was immediately told he looks ridiculous and he's spouting BS.

Some of you need to be more mature and stop thinking every thread on here is a slam on someone...this "witch hunt" doesn't make any sort of progress or positive contribution to the community.

It migh have something to do with Silver Lexus jumping him and telling him he looked ridiculous.

I wish I could be as righteous as you.

I'm getting out of this thread. Have a nice day :wavey

I think anyone who makes such a blatantly false claim should be called on it. The assertion that one of the more proven polishes does not work is complete idiocy and should not be tolerated on a forum where members seek the truth about product performance.

:xyxthumbs

I hate the term ‘fillers.’ It’s not necessarily correct as many polishes and light compounds use a buffer (oils etc.) to minimize abrasiveness. Clearly some products are much better at hiding defects using oils.

Regarding SSR . . . cleaning with an alcohol solution is a regular step of my procedure. Point blank - SSR removes swirls. However . . . if you do not wipe the surface clean of residue (both dust and oil), it’s very easy to be misled by the polish’s effectiveness. I’m willing to bet that either (a) you didn’t clean (with alcohol) and examine your work panel by panel or (b) your toweling is dirty.

On a side note, I've never used the SSR line with a PC.

Try it again and let’s see your results :)

Wow guys im posting back here. Ill again try my experiment on a panel and post pics of the results, if I am indeed wrong. Second where is all the hate coming from, Im just posting what I found from experience. And again Im doing things the right way. Im a professional detailer operating multiple mobile units throughout Pa and north Jersey, so I have the right equipment doing the job and knowledge of what has to be done.

I try to contibute on this forum and only to help out people. Im not here to fight, but some are you are acting very immature and slamming me for making a observation and comment. Silverlexus you are out of hand, a burden to this forum the way you are acting. I think you should apologize and stop making yourself look like immature.

ZaneO i want to thank you for having my back, and yes i do work as a full time detailer operating more than one mobile unit. So my typical day starts at 5am and and ends about 6pm so im not sitting here at the computer. I have to get up that early cause I wash my own vehicles everyday and get everything ready for the day.

This thread has gotten way out of hand, and has gone on long enough.

Everyone involved in this thread should take a moment to read every comment from the beginning, and learn from this because this is exactly how a discussion SHOULD NOT be conducted.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless of whether you agree with it or not, and just because something works for one person doesn't mean it's going to work for another, regardless of how *reputable* or *proven* it has been.

We (mods) are going to review this thread very carefully and decide if any action/s need to be taken.

In addition to getting personal, double and triple posting one after another in a short period without posts from other members in between is not preferred. Simply go back to your post and use the edit button if you wanted add more points and thoughts.

Also, it is against the rules here to link to one's commercial website.

Pleaser refrain from that as well. Thank you.
