SSR 2.5 and SSR 1 vs the M3

Guys, some of you may have seen my thread regarding the purchase of my M3 (just posted it a few minutes ago). Naturally, the results of my hrs of labor today produced a nearly flawless finish that looks excellent. Lemme tell you though, it didn't start out that way... hahaha

Here's what I started with after washing...

:eek::eek::eek:

One pass with SSR 2.5 via PC with Edge 2k yellow pad...

Followed up by SSR1 on Edge 2k blue pad...

Finished off with EX-P...

Speed for the PC was set to 6 for the SSR's. I was very pleased and impressed with SSR2.5 and what I was able to accomplish with just one pass. Once I saw the result, I knew I could move to SSR1 and more of a finishing pad. :)

Nice work..one or two more passes and you may have taken them all out :)

Yup, I agree. Btw, I received my EX-P and freebie PwS... looking forward to trying out tomorrow on a wash and wax type deal for a friend. It's the perfect product for what I'm being asked to do :)

I agree, you stopped short of removing them all but it looks great......far better than before.

Yup, honestly I probably removed about 90% of the swirls. I need a better after picture from the same angle as the original and after SSR2.5 to show. But yeah, I'm not totally caught up in having a swirl free car... just mostly swirl free!! :) :yay

Some people don't even notice swirls, but this car was covered in them top to bottom. It made me cringe every time I looked at it from an angle. No more cringing...hahaha.

I was not meaning to criticize, just a thought. I'll deswirl my cars once a year and try to keep them looking presentable the rest of the time. Fine fine ride.

Oh totally, I didn't take it as criticism, just a comment. And an accurate one at that :)

Is this your first time working with the SSRs? SSR2.5 and SSR1 are my 'go to' polishes to be used with the PC :). And your results prove why. There is a huge difference with the befores and afters. Congrats on your new car and best of luck in the future.

I've been using both for about a year and a couple months now. I love them!! They're so easy to work with. :)

I'm cringing looking at those before pics too!

NIce job. One of the best ways to not have swirls is to not put swirls on your car. I'm constantly amazed at how many people don't know how or just don't care about maintaining their very expensive cars, and almost every car today qualifies as "expensive."

I get sick when someone says "oh it's just a car" to justify their own laziness.

Amen... most people have no clue how those sort of swirls appear on their paint.
