SRP & Glanz experiment

Very pleased with this combination on silver. Application by hand using foam pads for both the SRP and Glanz wax. Glass NXT glass cleaner:up good stuff indeed. Wheels SRP, tyres 4* x 2 and wheelwells Neilsen Flair.

The SRP & Glanz work well together IMHO - leave a nice wet finish

Thanks - shame it's gotta go really but the seat/seat position are what contributed in a major way to my recent back problems so I've got to upgrade to something bigger - but this is autopia so just because she's going back to the lease co doesn't mean I'll neglect her!

Great work Andy. I am beginning to conclude it is easier for wax's etc to work with SRP than EGP. Maybe EGP is to slick to enable effective bonding.

I have never been able to get comfortable in an Astra, they always give me lower back pain

Absolutely gorgeous work Andy. One of these days I'll have to give my Glanz a shot on my silver paint.

SRP - Super Resin Polish from Autoglym. Btw nice car there Andy and I would like to know how would you compare AIO to SRP in term of ease of use, and hopefully you have tried AIO before.

Gen2 - I have AIO & Carlack and they're both slightly easier to apply/remove IMHO. SRP seems to "clog" on the foam pad a bit and is slightly harder to remove but in terms of appearance, I find it slightly wetter and it does have the added benefit of removing minor swirling/marring.

182_blue - got my glanz from www.erazer.co.uk

As it's another warm and dry day today, I may top with Signature

Great work Andy, looks superb.

As I posted a few months a go, SRP or Carlack 68 is now my go to on Silver, I was shocked how good it looked. Even Silver can look deep and wet with this combo. Will grab some pics off my dads 306 next weekend when I use it as my PC test car !!!

I almost see Glanz as EGP without the cure time, It goes on as easy but can come straight off.

Andy top half a panel with Signature and half with P21S/S100 as I give the edge slightly to the later.

thx chap

Andy_C1- Interesting combo, thanks for trying it out and telling us about it.

I too like the SRP; in many ways I like it better than AIO. SRP/Souveran is my usual combo for the XJS.

I agree it can clog fine pads more than the AIO, I use it with mild polishing pads that still have a little "openness" to them. It's a bit thick for use with Cyclo finishing pads, but I do it anyhow and it works OK as long as I wash/swap the pads partway through.

I tried SRP and AIO side-by-side and found that the AIO cleaned most stuff off a *lot* better (especially dried polish residue). The SRP seemed to work as well as the AIO on tar, though. Ease of use is sorta a toss-up, they're both so easy (for me at least) that it's hard to choose between them. I somehow like working with the SRP better though. I've never had any problems with the little bit of abrasive in the SRP, even on the Jag's soft lacquer. Doing multiple passes with the SRP never results in paint transfer after the first pass.

There's a debatable issue regarding layering SRP. Yeah, it has cleaners and abrasives so it "shouldn't layer". But if you put a second "application" on *very gently* it seems to last a good bit longer than using only one.
