Spray & Wipe - HELP!!

you laugh, but im sure it would save you a lot of pm's and typing if people actually did read first.

people are scared that too little wouldnt emulsify and lubricate dirt as well. i dont mind using a spray or two more. its worth the money and i always gover with a quick detailer for gloss enhancement.

this is true, but that's why i'm here..to help answer questions:) it's a hard philosophy to get use to, just ask Boss:lol ..but it really is easier with less...

I'll start by saying, I have not experienced smearing or streaking while using Spray & Wipe and two or more clean MFTs (been a user since 01/03). The point of my post is regarding the amount of S&W used. For each 1/2 of a medium sized hood I will use 3-4 generous sprays from a non PB's spray bottle. I want one spray at the top of the panel where I will begin my swipe, another midway and yet another near the end of the panel. IMO this is increasingly important in direct proportion to the amount of grunge/grime you want the product to remove.

I know Steve has eons more experience with his product than I do, but for my peace of mind, I have no trouble using more than a light spritzing unless I am only seeking to clean up some very light dusting. Maybe this practice is the answer as to why I haven’t experienced any marring while using S&W. I'm sure this doesn't bother Steve as it keeps me coming back for more S&W as I find it an indispensable product in my kit.

Kent you are right ...I usually tell people new to using the product to use what ever they need to be comfortable, being that it is their vehicle. Definitely the amount used should be proportionate to the amount of dirt to be removed.
Lastly keep using as much as you like Kent;) but if anyone is getting any streaking or haze it will almost always come down to the use of too much and the mf being used:)

a ot of people suggest to use 3 mist per panel. but only using 3 mist doesnt give uniform coverage, and some parts are left dry. i feel i need 5 or 6 per panel. ...

I find the same thing but here's what I do - I squeeze the trigger lightly until it starts to spray and then stop. I never pull through to get a full spray. I can mist the entire hood of my car with about 5 or 6 of these false start pulls.

I check for smearing by intentiallly not wiping a panel clean and then find the angle of light that shows the smear. Now, I have a reference to check the panel as I clean.

Oh I have lot of soft plush MF on hand too!!

haha! ive tried that. it works great. i just cant always get the trigger nozzle turned to the right degree to get that false start spritz.

S&W with a spray nozzle ????? I usually just dump the gallon jug over my truck.....lol

Only time when I've had a problem is when using to much or a dirty MF towel.
