Spray & Wipe - HELP!!

I love poorboys products. EX-P, SSR1, SSR2, SSR2.5 are the only polishes/sealents I use. I just ordered a gallon of Spray & Wipe. My car is a 2003 black G35. But I have been having some major smearing residue after i finish using the spray and wipe.

Here is the technique I use:

Spray each section.
Wipe with Waffle weave.
Wipe again with soft microfiber.

I usually do this in the shade. The car looks outstanding after I complete it. But when I take the car in the sun, there is residue smears every where! What should i do differently?

my guess is two fold..one you are using too much and two that the use of the WW is just smearing it around ....what kind of mf are you using?

how much is too much? I try to spray so the entire panel is covered with Spray & Wipe. If I'm doing half of the hood, how many sprays should i use???

as far as the microfiber, the second microfiber is a really soft high pile MF. It suppose to be for quickdetailing.

A light, fine mist of S & W (and most QD's) is all you need. Also, move your towel............. slowly!

One more thing.......... make sure your towels are cleaned properly...... and no fabric softener.

it only takes a light spritz....no more than two to three per panel...if you are saturating the panel, the mf is loading up and just moving it around not picking it up. the mf needs no pressure and should be dry...when it gets moist change mf's

a ot of people suggest to use 3 mist per panel. but only using 3 mist doesnt give uniform coverage, and some parts are left dry. i feel i need 5 or 6 per panel. i never really buff out any residue. i just spray, wipe, and then when im done i go over the whole car with a quick detailer (used spray and gloss today) and that pretty much cleans up anything. spray and gloss actually never leaves any residue. i guess thts why its good to use for windows.

When i use this stuff called Snappy Shine by Carm i noticed that sometimes it would smear and streak and came to the conclusion that the product didn't like whatever was last used on the car. Some products don't agree with each other. Just a thought.

could it be the outside temperature?

Last week I used it late afternoon when the temperature was about 75 degrees. I noticed alot of smearing. So I diluted the S&W 1 to 1 with water. This cause the S&W to evaporate slower. Look alot better.

Later I tried to use the diluted S&W in the morning when it was about 65 degress. It didn't work to well.

no the temperature was fine, it's just using too much...

certain mf microfibers that are soft but not absorbant also tend to move the product around rather than pick it up.

you are by no means supposed to saturate the surface..a light mist at most

1 - 2 sprays for any of Steve's QDs. Try just sprayin in the middle of the panel and wiping with no pressure across the panel like your spreading it, then switch to a dry side and buff a tiny bit.

SOG35,

One more tip before I hit the "hay". If you have an empty Meguiar's QD spray bottle (the red one). Try putting the S & W in that bottle. The Meguiar's QD bottles make great QD dispensers! They throw a super fine mist of product!

Megs QD makes good bottles to get an even full spray. The Eagle One QD bottle also works better when you need a partial spray. My Megs QD is almost empty so I may give that a try also.

would there be any need to clean out the megs bottle? i mean whatever detail spray drops/residue is left over shouldnt do anything.

(quick edit) steve (poorboys steve), u should really switch the spray nozzle of the spray and wipe (all white nozzle) to the one spray and gloss comes with (white/blue). gives more of a fine mist.

grr... i ordered mine form autogeek. maybe they had an older batch because mine came the spray and gloss bottle with a cap and inside the box i had the spray nozzle. my spray and gloss is right about empty so i plan on transfering the nozzle of that to the spray and gloss.

This is directly from the bottle....
