spray waxes for the winter

for the winter. i put a few coats of something durable on my car.. and midway through the winter put one more coat on... i wash every other week, or whenever its a less freezing day and i cant stand the amount of salt on the car.. the amount of salt my car picks up over my daily 90 mile commute is rediculous, and very hard on my LSP, especially towards the bottom behind my front wheels. . so every time i do wash i use a spray wax.. last year i used aqua wax, or turtle wax express (yes, turtle wax).. i just do this due to the convenience, compared to using a liquid or paste.. my question, and main reason for creating this thread is to ask a few questions.

is optimum car wax really as durable as it claims? more so than UQW and AW?

what is your winter maintenence scheduel?

thanks in advance for the responses.

Funny, I use TWES (yes one of the few TW products that meets and even exceeds it claims) as my winter spray wax for my DD. It is inexpensive (found it for 3.50 at a local dollar store) and lasts very well.

have you ever used ocw, or four star spray wax? and i agree. the TWES is deffinatley good stuff... the smell is the only part i dont like. it smells very strongly like babies. haha

I use OCW , AW and Meg's ult. wax . I like the feel and shine of the OCW over the other products but I find like you in the winter the lower part on my car require attention almost every wash,

@Jdizzle: No , I haven't tried OCW, Four Star Spray Wax or even UQW yet. I have heard nothing but good things about all those products. I promised my wife that I would cycle through all my supplies before trying new stuff. ( I think she was getting tired of seeing yet another box of supplies arriving at my front door)

Im far from what your exposed to being in SoCal. I commend you first of all for being so diligent. My go to's all year long are OCW and AW for maintaining my UPP, 105 or 111 base protection. Its not the salt in the Winter that gets us out here, its the dang U.V.'s :angry in the Summer!

The FS Spray Wax Plus, IMO, lost its credibility when they dropped carrying the Ult Paint Protection Spray. UPPS was IMO, the best spray sealant made by anyone. But, :nomore: for whatever their reason was.........:hairpull

Yeah, I really miss that stuff. I'm getting by with my remaining stock of UGE and then I guess I'll just use FK425.

My winter touchups amount to using leaves-stuff-behind QD after every wash (when drying). The layered KSG onthe minivan doesn't really need it though, that stuff lasts through tough winters just fine with zero such boosting.

No it is not . Not even close . For a garage queen maybe , but for out in the elements of winter and such ....no.

Keep your garage locked G.............

I mean, I REALLY liked that stuff............

I haven't used OCW over the winter but used it over the summertime and it lasted a few weeks. Seems like a good booster wax so I plan on using it over the coming winter.
