spray wax needed

maybe its just me, but I cant search for beans....lol



I am looking for a new spray wax. I get crazy streaking issues with OCW from the gallon I have from two years ago. I had the issues from the start and stopped using it. Then I thought it was the sprayer I was using, so I switched it up...nope. Then I thought it was the towels and how I was washing them...nope. Maybe a bad batch? Keeping in mind it was a gallon from over 2 years ago...what is another really good and easy spray wax to use after an ONR or waterless wash?

Another vote for DG AW. I can't recall ever having an issue using it on a wet or dry car. I have had streaking/patchiness issues with others in the past on my dark colored vehicles, better not with AW.
 
ok, maybe you can tell me how to use it...here is what i have tried in the past:



spray directly on the panel, then wipe to spread, then buff to remove

spray on the towel and wipe it one, then buff to remove

use ONR to wash the car, make first dry pass, then before the panel is completely dry, spray OCW on panel and finish drying



those are the three different ways I have tried it....

(by buff, I mean MF towel it)



any other suggestions? (its not rocket science, but it leaves a trail of residue no matter what I do) I was trying to stick with ONR and OCW for the new business, but doesnt seem like OCW wants to play nicely.
 
AW is great. never had streaking issue. dont matter if car is dry, wet, clear coat, single stage, heck i even believe i have used it in the middle of summer at a noon time car show in the sun and with a hot surface.



another one i like is Quick-n-Slick from croftgate. IME this left the finish slicker than the AW. only issue is if you spray it directly on car it will streak. simple cure is either spray the streak again or just spary you MF instead of the vehicle

What has worked for me with both my 1Z spray wax and my fk425 is using a finishing pad (lc grey).

I spray on the pad, use hand movement to apply thinly, buff with mf as per instruction regarding buff off time. No streaking issues like I had with using mf only.

By the way, I am going for AW also when my 425 is gone. Haven't heard a bad word about it.
 
I agree with keep_it_clean re. Quick-n-Slick from CroftgateUSA. Just spray it on the MF towel and wipe on. Don't need to use too much. Excellent results.

+1 You can apply it in the sun or shade and it won't stain trim. In fact I use it on the trim sometimes as well as the windshield. :xyxthumbs
 
I've only used Meguiars Spray wax, and have been very happy with it. Goes on really easy and buffs off perfectly everytime. Even on black cars (I have 2 black cars). Adds a great shine and slickness and the price is great too with the new gallon called x-press wax now. Same formula, different name (and different smell. I loved the strawberry smell that would last for days in my garage!).
