Overall Thoughts:

Clean Clean Clean
The wheels on my F-150 (with Carbon fiber Pads) and my E-320 ( you know MB brake dust) where as clean as if I scrubbed them and then poliched with a metal polish.
Recieved my bottle of Poorboys Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner yesterday.
order recieved very promptly. Placed order May 3 recieved it May 4.
Spray bottle is typical Poorboys quality. Very good.
The product worked just as advertised.
Very easy to use.

The price is good at 14.95 a quart. I would guess based on my usage that you could do 6 to 8 vehicles with a quart. That's between 2.49 and and 1.86 a pop.
Poorboys comes through again.

how dirty would you say the wheels were? would u say they were as dirty as when u would use another cleaner and still need to scrub? or was it a mild coating of brake dust?

do they clean the tires two? atleast enough for a regular maintance of wheels/tires?

14.95 a quart!!!!!????? Thats a whole lot of money for wheel acid. AutoMagic sells a gallon for for i can't remember the exact price like 17.95 or 18.95. And you can dilute wheel acid with water up to 3:1 for more usage of it.

wheel acid used right will cut thru the worse wheels you've ever seen with ease. If you know what your doing with it. you can also use it on Paint for waterspots, and phosphate mine dust and setements that clay don't take off, easier then cutting into it i might add. It also works wonders on glass with spots that you just can't seem to get off. acid has many uses if you know how to use it.

right. but i dont think id wanna use somethign sooo strong like u're describing on a regular basis. i feel very comfortable using a2z or sg for proper cleaning and soap and water for regular maintanance. has anyone used it and think its ok for regualr cleaning? is it diluteable?

again, how good would it be on cleaning tires?

No problem TD. If you're comfortable spraying acid on your ride, well God bless. I wasn't trying to start a debate, was just giving a review based on my own experience and my own perception of the products results. Take from it what you will. Just MHO. :chill

I believe that Poorboy suggests that you dilute S&R so you don't waste it. From what I came to understand, full strength should only be used for the worst cases of brake dust.

Debate?? i'm debating no one. If your happy spending 15 bucks a quart have at it. in my first post i made a statment that automagic sells the same wheel acid for 18 bucks a gallon, Thats all i was trying to get across, I'm not telling you to buy automagic sorry if you took it the wrong way.

And my second post someone asked about using it on tires so i simply tried to explain some of the many uses of acid has, though i did forget to put you could use it on tires and whitewalls. Again i'm not telling anyone to do these things just stating that it has many uses.

So chill out man not trying to step on your turf

If they are the same, I'd be interested to know where you found that out. They *could* both be pH<7 (acidic), but not be the same. In that case, maybe the PB product could be giving you more for your money somehow :dunno Just trying to clarify.

the point i was trying to get across was they are both the same type of acids that clean wheels.? not that their dna's are the exact same. lol. i explaind what the automagic wheels acid could do also "IF" you know what your doing.

I use three different wheel cleaners depending on how bad the wheels are.

Einman Fabrik Tire Cleaner: Great tire cleaner that doubles as a great wheel cleaner if wheels aren't to bad.

TOL Wheel Wash: Strong wheel cleaner that will remove most bad areas without having to scrub. It's not acid based.

PB's S&R Wheel Cleaner: I can clean ANY wheel that won't come clean with the two previous products. I love this product and actually ordered a 5 gallon container so I'll never run out before I can order more.

I use acids everyday, so it kind of sparked me when you said "automagic sells the same wheel acid for 18 bucks a gallon".

Have you ever seen, smelled, used, or even looked at an MSDS for PB's wheel acid??

Seems like a valid question to me. :dunno

Time for Steve to jump in......

I don't like to use wheel acid at all unless there are no other options.

I'll take the poorboys stuff over acid any day.

A lot of folks around here do the following on wheel care:

1) polish/clean your wheels
2) Seal them with PB's wheel sealer x 3
3) Use a 50/50 mix of Spray and Rinse:Water for cleaning.

If you cut S&R (and buy it by the gallon) it's not that expensive.

For me, S&R is a real time saver and worth every penny.

Good spot.

I'm no chemist, that's for sure.

If I use somthing like Trans-Mate Wheel Brighther, I wear eye, skin, and breathing protection.

I don't have to do that with S&R.
