I had good luck with a Neilson (spelling?) fireman's hose nozzle I got from Lowe's or Home depot for around $8. It had great adjustablilty with even spray pattern. I ran over it and the rubber coating split and kept getting worse. My friend bought the same nozzle and his sucked. The spray pattern was all lop-sided. So my friend bought a Goodyear firemans nozzle and I thought it was great and I liked the larger size to hold onto, so I bought one to replace my damaged Neilson nozzle, but my Goodyear nozzle sucks. The spray pattern is almost all to one side of the nozzle.
I don't think that any of these are made to very stringent specs and the differences are enough to make one nozzle great and another of the same nozzle no good (except for probably that Griots nozzle if it costs $70). It probably hit or miss with the cheaper nozzles.
