Spray bottle storage ideas

As I guess many of you will, I've accumulated a lot of spray bottles (QD, APC, tyre cleaners, glass cleaner etc etc) and they're currently all in the bottom of one of my cabinets which is a PITA to get them out, put them away again.

Maybe I'm just lazy but has anyone got/seen any kind of storage solutions anywhere? I do have some spare timber and planned to build a shelf across the back of my workbench but before I do anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks guys.

I've been trying to find a cabinet / bottle rack for some time now. One that's about 4" deep, would hang on the wall & has doors. That way I could store aerosol bottles as well as trigger sprayers.

I've seen the ones for race trailers, but don't want to drop $200 on a small storage cabinet. I've thought about just buying a standard wall cabinet, slicing down the sides & shelves & reattaching the back of it.

Anyone seen anything like I'm describing?

I store mine in milk crates. You can also find a milk crate style container at staples used for files that stack.

I used to make these racks, but stopped due to low demand. :hm If there was a need, I could probably have a dozen or so made for the Autopia guys? I'd guess that this size would run around $200 or so, but if it was just powdercoated it could be significantly less (this was 1/16" thick stainless).

Let me know, drop an e-mail and we can work something out...

Thanks for the posts. Now the trick is to find these without the Griot's RIDICULOUS markups :D

Based on gsxrgessler's post, his bottle rack was $200 for 12 holes (which I noticed griot's products sitting in it :chuckle: ). 4 of the 3 hole racks will cost around $90 at griots. Given that they are just coated, not stainless...

All my stuff gets stored in my closet inside during the winter. Here's my setup right now. A few of my sprayers don't have enough room between the sprayer handle and the head to fit over the bar, so they have to stay on the floor.

My clothes hangers are on the other half of the bar. :) And the latex gloves on the coat hangers are my QEW gloves.

Sell them all and just by some Mr Sheen :idea  :nervous:

I bought some cheap plastic (milk carton type) holders from one of One Pound shops

I found a great solution. I have metal pegboard in my garage so I tried the screwdriver racks for pegboard. They work great. I hang the bottles by the trigger.

I spent a lot of time searching for storage cabinet options for my garage also. I wanted a cabinet in lieu of shelves for the reasons others listed, i.e they are enclosed so it makes the garage look cleaner and the items don't collect dust.

The best deals I found were at a company called Dallas Midwest. They provide furniture to schools, chruches, etc. Here is a link to the cabinets: Dallas Midwest Cabinets .

In the end, I purchased the full height Sears Craftsmen cabinets like the ones posted earlier. The advantage they have is that you can store cans, bottles, etc. in both doors. Downside is that I wish they had more shelves as purchased. You can buy extras. They also have to be assembled.

If you watch for sales, they can be picked up for ~$250, which is what a good cabinet from an office supply store wil cost. YOu can also sign up for the Craftsmen Club which has regular sales.

I have Metro shelves on thr right in my garage. The spray triggers fit nicely into the wire grids and hang off the side.

I am mainly a mobile detailer. I have found that 2 litre soda delivery trays hold round 32 oz spray bottles nicely. They are used when a distributer delivers soda to convienence stores. Thay hold 12 bottles snugly. I scored a few from my neighbor who works for Pesi cola. the trays have 4 fingers that hold the bottle securly and I have yet to have one fall over or get knock out of the tray while driving. The best part is I can take the entire tray to a job and not waste time making trips back and forth to the truck. If I can get my camera to work, I will take pics. The trays are kind of hard to explain. I also use plastic parts bins that dealerships use when parts are delivered from the warehouses. They are hard plastic and have hinged lids. They are great for storing pads towels and buffers.

Most of all of the sheet metal storage items are made by durham manufacturing. Look them up and you will find the same stuff. And actually the markup on these items are very small. The prices are similar to what you find elsewhere for the same products. I have bought some of the items from griots and it is marked right on the back that it is made by durham. Just a FYI.

Hello,

I am also looking to improve my tool storage space, through the use of modular cabinets.

However, I do not have a lot of experience in this field.

The best site I found up to now is angel-wings.ca

They carry the Dura and Bergo brand

Modular Garage Storage Cabinets

Anyone know them?
