Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner

could be the product I'm most impressed with. Yesterday I did my sister-in-law's car. It's the first time it's been "cleaned" since she bought it in October of last year. Her wheels were almost black. I walked around the car and sprayed each wheel. Taking my time as I "knew" this was going to be a chore. After completing the spraying of the wheels I walked over and petted the dog for a few moments to give the cleaner a chance to loosen up the grime. I then came back and hit the wheels with the water on jetstream. The dirt ran off the wheels as though it was cleaned just last week. I'l admit that in the nooks and crannies dirt was still there but with the help of a terrycloth towel the wheels became spotless with a simple wiping of the wheel. Spray and Rinse performed very impressively.

How many oz's did you use doing all the wheels? Im stuck between buying EO wheel acid and Poorboys spray and rinse.

Greg,
I've not tried the EO Wheel Acid, but I have used the PB's & I love it!!
I used about 6 oz. when I removed the wheels from the V to do inside & out.

And the insides were REALLY bad!! :(

But it cleaned them up beautifully!!

For a thorough cleaning of really dirty wheels, I'll use about 4-8 ounces of S&R depending upon the size of the wheels and the complexity of the spoke design. For regular maintenance of previously cleaned wheels, S&R can be diluted with equal parts water. I only use about 2-4 ounces of the S&R/water mix during regular wheel maintenance.

yea, i was pretty impressed with this product too. i diluted it 1:1 and it works fine on my horrid BMW rims. now im just wondering how well it would work if i used the A2Z foaming sprayer instead.

I am using a foaming sprayer with S&R. It seems to allow the S&R to dwell/cling on the vertical surfaces better than with a conventional sprayer.

Edit: I rinse out the sprayer after each use. S&R will destroy most sprayer mechanisms without this maintenance step. I went through a few sprayer heads before I learned this lesson.

Got my first bottle yesteday and could not believe how well this stuff works. Even on the toughest spots. I used a good quantity since the rims were pretty dirty. but this is a keeper in my garage.

Yeah, S+R is really great stuff. I have a good 2 or 3 gallons of alkaline rim cleaner that never see the light of day, since I started buying S+R in bulk. It truly does work miracles.

As for amount of use, I'd say that I get a good 8 cars to a quart, so about 4oz/car. Sometimes I mix it 50:50, works well on cleaner rims. I don't think I'll ever go back to alkaline or PH balanced cleaners, the kick that acid gives you makes it well worth the hassle.

As for the price, its not cheap. I can get acid for 10 bucks a gallon locally. Even at 40 bucks a gallon, I keep coming back to S+R. The way I see it, it saves me 10 minutes a wash off of using alkaline cleaners. At 30 bucks an hour, that gallon pays for itself 4 times over. Up against stronger acids (I use chemfast brightener on bad rims), I feel that the safety margin of S+R is worth the money. One shot rim is atleast a couple hundred, plus the cost to my reputation.

I'll second, thrid or forth the S&R. I have just started using it and love the product. It has replaced the wheel cleaner in my garage. As for price concerns you can extend the bottle by mixing with water. I would bet that it is in the same ballpark as other cleaners on the market.

However my feelings about any product that I use is, if it works well the first time and with little effort to get great results then its worth the money. Saves me time and hassle and that's important to me, if its not a huge difference in money then its a moot point in my book.

:bigups :bigups for S & R. I used it 50/50 on my girlfriends hubcaps to get all of the caked up dust from the corners. I let it sit for about 30 seconds, hit it lightly with my megs wheel brush and the brake dust started running for it's life.
