At the bottom, a little above the truck headlight picture. On this page if that helps.

I see it. I completely missed it when I searched yesterday.

Note, the LC mention is not here, even though the text is near identical:

They DO mention the PADS are made by LC, not the adapter.

The parts have an LC part number, but sold as a kit under the PBMA name.

For whatever this is worth.

I see it now. I was on the page from the original link in the first post. You goofs had me thinking I needed glasses!

Sorry, I didn't use the link in the first post, I just went to the site and found the Spot Buff pads. Spilch, it may not have been there yesterday, they may have just added it as a result of some of the comments in this (and er, a bunch of others all over the internet) thread. But I think we are in agreement that Autogeek should have just refunded the $40 or whatever, that would have been a lot cheaper than the bad press, and that power tools carry some measure of risk no matter what they are or what you are doing with them.

I wonder if LC makes or has anything to do with the PC adaptor for the Edge 2K system...since I just recently bought one of these kits and within a few minutes had a very similar experience with the adaptor flying apart....it BTW was not chemically welded or anything of the sort, just screwed together...?

Blame Autogeek. They sold him the part under their name and marketing and failed to include instructions.

Can't people see this?

Think of your computer. If you bought an IBM and the memory chip goes, who do you contact? IBM? Yes. You don't call the supplier of the part that IBM purchases from.

Think of your buffer. If you bought Autogeek's spot pad kit that they sell under their name (NEVER mentioning LC anywhere) and THEIR adapter allegedly malfunctions, who do you contact? Autogeek!

If Autogeek never mentions LC, you would assume Autogeek made the adapter. They are passing the blame and have conveniently side stepped their responsibility, tip toing out of the argument.

Unless there is a recall because of a defect, there is no recourse. Or if he can prove there was a defect. Zillions of people cause damage with power tools on a daily basis.

I made this point on the first page of this thread.

Contact Arron.. he will make good.

My daughter was thrown off a horse and broke her arm. We made no attempt to claim, it wasa risk of her taking part in a sport she loves. But many do claim for much less serious injuries, and what has happened? A lot of riding schools have closed because they cannot afford the insurance ..........

Ok, this makes sense, BUT, would you let your daughter ride that horse without any instruction?

Would this be the same case if that riding school would have put her on a horse the first day without any lessons, expecting her to fully know how to ride the horse correctly?

I am pretty sure there WOULD be a lawsuit if this was the case.

Not the best analagy (i know i started it!)

But this is all about being responsible for your own actions. If I knew the riding school wernt going to teach her i would do the appropriate research - ie take the responsibility of teaching her myself if I found out the riding school wernt going to. (would probably go to another school in real life!)

Its a personal thing but I cannot just stand back and try and blame others if something goes wrong because I have used it incorrectly, or not taken the trouble to find out all the info I can.

Its not helped because people these days leave school/College with no practical skills - so what is obvious to us who have had a practical upbringing will be a complete mystery to many "academics."

If an item actually breaks in correct usage that, for me is where I start going after the supplier/manufacturer.........

Werd. :xyxthumbs

MikeC has been spamming the other forums like Detail City & Roadfly bad-mouthing LC, whining about LC not paying for his mistake. Detail City actually closed the thread because they were tired of his whining. :lol

Read the DC thread to see LC's response to MikeC.

Peace.
