spoiled man detailed my Q7 with lessons and product reviews (long)

So I had Chris aka spoiled man come over earlier this week to not only give a good exterior detail to my Audi Q7, but also give me some tips as I've been addicted to autopia now for 2 months. :)

First the wash, he used optimum no rinse, and WOW was I amazed. A grout sponge, and a bucket from chemical guys with a grit guard and he washed both the audi q7 and my bmw 550 in no time. I'm a huge fan now and got a gallon ordered!

I've been reading practically everyday trying to figure out and learn from everyone the best products to buy. The first big product was the UDM, but taking Chris's advice I waited till he got here and boy am I glad. The UDM just vibrated way too much for me, and I hated that feeling. He then let me try the cyclo, and wow what a difference. (I ordered one yesterday from danase!)

He then clayed using the ultima elastrofoam, and I tried it as well, super easy! (bought one myself now)

Then onto Menzerna 106ff and he used his polisher (hitachi is it?) and I tried a few panels with the cyclo. Orange pads I believe all were lake country. Super easy to apply, and very little dusting.

Then using gr40 to clean the trim, he used ultima trim guard and again I was just impressed on how well it made the trim just black and not oily or glossy. just new.

Then, it was the ultima paint guard plus. he wiped down the Q7, and I wiped down my bmw which was only washed (although it was "detailed" 3 months ago by a local shop) and the paint was in decent shape. It literally took about 4-5 minutes, to apply it! Immediately the bmw silver just looked brighter. It's hard to explain and here are the pics, but the silver just pops..

So I just wanted to share how cool spoiledman is.. and how great the products he used were.

I'm a huge fan of the ultima PGP for sure. I should probably add a second coat after my next wash. I can't believe how easy it is.

Peter, thanks! The pleasure was mine as it's just wonderful to deal with someone that is genuinely interested in keeping their cars looking great. Now that you've put your hands on some products that will make it even easier for you to keep your cars up you'll have more time for the little ones.:)

Do you by chance have any rear shots of the Q? You just have to show off the "tricks" that thing has.

Nice pictures, and it looks like chris did a fantastic job...

I wish I could work for more people who would take an interest in keeping one nice..

John, it's Audi typical paint a.k.a. hard.;) Not much water running out of "secret" places so that helps. Overall, not bad at all.

Super nice job . Love the shine and wetness . Already ordered the ultima line of products . Got to give it a try .

Cheers , Jean Paul

Nice, Ibis White is a great color on the Q7. But I miss the rings...

The rings are there but blacked out both front and rear. I'm hoping that the owner will post more pics of it to show off some of the trick things that have been done to it.

Chris=the man...

You couldn't have man a better choice for a detailer and I'm sure that the car looks even better in person (and it looks great in the pictures!)

Congrats

Cool. I figured it was hard clear. Thanks for the info. :)

I want to see those additional pics.
