spit shine - first attempt

Prepped car using RMG/YCM and SSR2 & 2.5 where needed by PC. 2 coats of WG and I then followed Nick T's instructions for spit shining using Souveran. I really enjoyed doing this if it doesn't sound too strange (mind you, this is autopia :) ) and I found it relatively simple. Hard to say at this early stage whether the optics are better but I've only done this once and it was so windy today I didn't want to risk pulling the car out of the garage (weird, 29 degrees yesterday and 17 today with gusts stong enough to knock the washing line over - go figure)

Anyways, here's some eye candy

Looks nice! Great combination of products. Got to love Souveran :xyxthumbs

I too spit shined two cars today using #16 and Meguiar's Final Detail (the pink stuff).

It helps to thin the product out. When buffing off, the shine is just awesome.

I also think it helps to cut down on potential marring because of the lubrication.

I don't remember Nick T's method, but I spritz the applicator and the panel with QD, massage on the wax, allow to haze and then spritz the panel with QD again and wipe away.

but the QD's (Sonus carnuaba spritz) in the fridge as we speak!!

The sign of a true Autopian!

Just don't confuse it for the orange juice if you have a late night thirst to quench :D

I like using the QD. It adds another dimension to the look. If you have the Pinncale QD, it would be the ultimate marriage with Souveran.

Hehe - or spray a fine mist of Tropicana all over my car!!

I may order some Pinnacle QD - Crystal Mist, right?

very nice work, andy. It's for these types of pics that my next car will be a black beauty too.

I tried spit shining mine with Blue Natty's and Megs FD yesterday. Nice shine, and slick as heck too.

I use OCW to spit shine, its been working out pretty well I guess. Not the easiest QD to deal with, but the results have been pretty good, IMHO. I usually spray with OCW, wax, OCW again lightly (and my family wonders why I buy in gallon bottles :o), then use PB's S+G to remove any streaking and add a little "pop".
