Spilled milk

The Whaler Loves Detail City
on my keyboard this morning. The gray wafflweave that I bought from DC a few years ago soaked it up. The towel fit in between the keys perfectly. The keyboard is now dry and there is no evidence of it getting a milkbath. There are better ways to start the morning.

I'm glad you didn't cry over the spilled milk. ;) My son spilled juice on the keyboard the other day and for like 2 days it was typing all these weird things, but then after that it was back to normal. It's amazing what keyboards can withstand. :)

I came from the circuit board industry and the circuit card that is in your key board will take quite a bit of abuse....the board has either a carbon, silver or gold pad right over the keys. When you press the key it touches that area and that sends the electronic command..There is really nothing on top of the board that water or liquid will cause much damage unless it gets under the board..even then you can let it dry out and it will come back to life....They wash circuit boards fully loaded with component with water once they are done..at the manufacturing sites....The one thing that will cause problems with your key board is dust and bits of food:cool: so I would recommend that you turn that board over every so often and shake it out or use your air compressor to blow it out

OK there is a circuit board lesson for the day

Good lesson. So are you saying I could rinse my keyboard with water and after drying out it would be fine??

not really, I'm stating that if you spilled some liquid on it its not going to ruin the board that quickly as long as you start the drying process right away...A buddy of mine fell into a pool with his cell phone it went dead right away...I took the battery off and set it in the over on warm for about 30 minutes.. replaced with a new battery and it came right back up...circuit board materials are tested for extreme temp changes, water, dust collection, jarring and a lot of other things...once they are fully loaded with the components they are run threw a washer and dryer to clean them....the only thing that can hurt them from a water stand point is if it sits on the exposed metal parts that can corrode over time..in the case of a key board the pads under buttons can corrode but you can use a hair drier to take the moisture out ASAP
